SRFP- Summer Research Fellowship Programme – 2022

Since the inception of the Summer Research Fellowship Programme in 1990, around 2000 students have benefited. Every year around 2000 applications are received, out of which 150 fellowships are offered. This is one of the Centre’s highly acclaimed programmes, and the students are very appreciative of the benefits, enabling them to get inspired towards scientific research during the early stage of their education.

Research Area

Life Sciences – Infectious and non-infectious diseases, bioinformatics, developmental biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology, genetics, life-history evolution, circadian biology, animal behaviour, behavioural ecology, evolutionary genetics, evolutionary biology, experimental evolution, population dynamics, phylogeography, neurophysiology, behavioural neurobiology and behavioural genetics and cell biology.

Required data to apply

Please ensure that your completed application includes –

1. Required information on your referees who are expected to send recommendation letters.
2. Attachments of relevant mark sheets etc.

Eligibility criteria

Students who have

secured not less than 80% in Maths and Science subjects in their 10th and 12th standard or equivalent examinations, and not less than first class in graduation and post-graduation (if applicable).

Life Sciences –

Students presently studying in I and II years of B.Sc., I, II and III years of B.S., I, II and III year of B.E. /B.Tech., I years of M. Sc and I, II, III and IV years of Integrated M.Sc. can apply.

Terms and Validity

• Students who have already completed this programme earlier need not apply.
• More application to this programme does not warrant selection.
• The students selected under this programme are placed with scientists at the Centre or elsewhere in India, for 2 continuous months with a stipend of Rs. 10000 /- p.m http://www.jncasr.ac.in/fe/srfp.php.
