The number of positions as advertised may vary depending upon the suitability of candidates and access needs of the candidates In the project.

Eligible candidates may appear for “Walk-in-Interview(s)” on the date, time and place mentioned above along with an application in the prescribed format (with the latest coloured passport size photo affixed on it) which is available on the CSIR-IHBT website www.ihbt.res.in along with self-attested photocopies of their testimonials of age, educational qualifications, experience, reserved category etc. at the time of
interview. The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the duration of the project. There will be no right implicit or explicit for a regular position or any post in CSIR-IHBT. whatsoever. Candidates must also bring with them original certificates of testimonials at the time of appearing for the interview failing which he/she will not be allowed to appear for the interview. No TA will be paid for attending the interview.

The Selection Committee(s) may adopt the selection criterion on its own i.e. either by conducting a direct interview or written test followed by an interview on the same day.

The decision of the Director, CSIR-IHBT. Palampur shall be final for engagement of above-mentioned positions in CSIR-IHBT, Palampur (H.P.).

Instructions to the candidates related to COVID-19 –

All the Candidates are advised to follow all the guidelines/instructions issued by the Government of India/ Government of Himachal Pradesh/ CSIR/ local Authorities to contain the spread of COVID-19 from time to time.

How to reach CSIR-IHBT, Palampur, Distt. Kangra (H.P.): Candidates can reach by the following mode of the journey at the venue of the interview –

1. By Train – (i) Upto Una, Amb (H.P.) and (ii) Upto Chakki Bank, Pathankot Railway Station (H.P.).
2. By Bus – ISBT Palampur via Chandigarh, Una, Dehra, Kangra (H.P.)
3. By Air – From New Delhi up to Dharamshala, Gaggal Airport (H.P.)

For Post I

Essential Qualifications – M.Sc. Microbiology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences.

Desirable Qualifications – Experience in cloning and expression experiments, protein extraction and purification during dissertation work of MSc or above will be preferred.

Stipend –

(i) Rs. 31,000/-p.m. + HRA to those who are selected through
a) National Eligibility tests CSIR-UGC NET including lecturership (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or
b) A selection process through National Level examinations conducted by central government and their agencies and institutions.
(ii) Rs. 25,000/-p.m. + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above

For Post II

Essential Qualifications – M.Sc or equivalent in Bioinformatics.

Desirable Qualifications –

• Preference will be given to candidates having expertise in generation, handling and analysis of high throughout the sequence NGS data (genome/ transcriptome/ sRNA).
• The expertise as in the desirable category should be clearly spelt out in the experience section of the application form.

Work Experience –

• Transcriptome or genome data handling
• The person will be required to assemble, annotate Whitefly genome/transcriptome
  data for downstream analysis.

Stipend –

(i) Rs. 31,000/-p.m. + HRA to those who are selected through
a) National Eligibility tests CSIR-UGC NET including lecturership (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or
b) A selection process through National Level examinations conducted by central government and their agencies and institutions.
(ii) Rs. 25,000/-p.m. + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above

• Reporting Time – 09.30 AM -10.30 AM
• Venue – CSIR-IHBT, Palampur (H.P.)

*Candidates appearing for an interview after 10.30 AM will not be entertained.
