The number of positions as advertised may vary depending upon the suitability of candidates and access needs of the candidates In the project.
How to Apply –
Eligible candidates may appear for “Walk-in-Interview(s)” on the date, time and place mentioned above along with an application in the prescribed format (with the latest coloured passport size photo affixed on it) which is available on the CSIR-IHBT website www.ihbt.res.in along with self-attested photocopies of their testimonials of age, educational qualifications, experience, reserved category etc. at the time of interview. The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the duration of the project. There will be no right implicit or explicit for a regular position or any post in CSIR-IHBT, whatsoever. Candidates must also bring with them original certificates of testimonials at the time of
appearing for the interview failing which he/she will not be allowed to appear for the interview. No TA will be paid for attending the interview.
The Selection Committee(s) may adopt the selection criterion on its own i.e. either by conducting a direct interview or a written test followed by an interview on the same day.
The decision of the Director, CSIR-IHBT, Palampur shall be final for engagement of the above-mentioned positions in CSIR-IHBT, Palampur (H.P.).
Instructions to the candidates related to COVID-19 –
All the Candidates are advised to follow all the guidelines/instructions issued by the Government of India / Government of Himachal Pradesh/ CSIR/ Local Authorities to contain the spread of COVID-19 from time to time.
How to reach CSIR-IHBT, Palampur, Distt. Kangra (H.P.) – Candidates can reach by the following mode of journey at the venue of the interview:
- By Train: (i) Upto Una, Amb (H.P.) and (ii) Upto Chakki Bank. Pathankot Railway Station (H.P.).
- By Bus: ISBT Palampur via Chandigarh, Una, Dehra, Kangra (H. P.)
- By Air: From New Delhi up to Dharamshala, Gaggal Airport (H.P.)

For Post I
Essential Qualifications – M.Sc. in Biotechnology/Botany/Life Science from a recognized university.
Desirable Qualifications – Work experience in molecular biology (gene cloning and protein expression), next-generation sequencing, plant stress physiology. plant tissue culture, transgenic plant development.
Candidates with proven records/publications will be preferred.
Stipend – (i) Rs. 31,000/-p.m. + HRA to those who are selected through a) National Eligibility tests CSIRUGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or
b) A selection process through National Level examinations conducted by the central government and their agencies and institutions.
(ii) Rs. 25,000/-p.m. + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above

Essential Qualifications – B.Sc. in Botany/Microbiology
Desirable Qualifications – Experience in Molecular Biology/Bacteria handling based on work experience/dissertation.

Essential Qualifications – M.Sc. in Biotechnology / Plant Molecular Biology from a recognized university or equivalent with eight years’ experience.
Or
Ph.D. in Biotechnology / Plant Molecular Biology with four years’ experience
Desirable Qualifications – Experience in Plant molecular biology and/or Plant-fungus interaction.
Stipend – Rs. 49,000/-per month plus HRA

Essential Qualifications – M.Sc. Botany / Biochemistry/ Biotechnology
Desirable Qualifications – Experience in Plant Molecular Biology / Plant -fungus interaction based on work experi ence/ dissertation/ publication.
Stipend – (i) Rs. 31,000/-p.m. + HRA to those who are selected through a) National Eligibility tests CSIRUGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or
b) A selection process through National Level examinations conducted by the central government and their agencies and institutions.
(ii) Rs. 25,000/-p.m. + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above

Desirable Qualifications – Work experience in NGS/ genome-wide molecular markers/ High- throughput Genotyping/ Genome mapping/ Plant Molecular Biology.
Stipend – (i) Rs. 31,000/-p.m. + HRA to those who are selected through a) National Eligibility tests CSIRUGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or
b) A selection process through National Level examinations conducted by the central government and their agencies and institutions.
