Terms and conditions –

1. All the above-mentioned vacancies are for a fixed tenure of one year (12 months) can however be extended to a maximum of five years depending on the candidate’s performance and a budget grant from the funding agency.
2. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Interested candidates may appear for walk-in interviews. Candidates should bring a duly filled application form (As per the prescribed Performa) and all original certificates of educational qualifications, copies of research publication and experience certificate if having along with a photo and set of self-attested photocopies of all certificates at the time of interview.
3. Age Relaxation- Relaxable up to 5 years for Government Servants and for SC/ST/OBC candidates in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel and Training from time to time in this regard. Age relaxation may be given to candidates having working experience in ICMR or any other govt. funded projects.
4. Candidates have to fill the application form given below and submit the same with self – attested Xerox copy of the certificates. The duly filled application form along with certificate copies should be sent either through speed post/ registered post to Dr Baijayantimala Mishra, PI, State Level VRDL, Department of Microbiology, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, Pin Code 751019 on or before 30th October 2021 by 05.00 PM.
5. The application envelope should be super scribed as “Application for the post of… In-State Level VRDL, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar.”
6. The interested candidates must send the soft copy of relevant documents (duly-filled application form (as per prescribed Proforma), Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV), copies of certificates/documents in support of fulfilling the essential criteria of age, educational qualification, research experiences etc. besides others in support of their
   candidature by email: [email protected].
7. It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to track the application and the undersigned is not responsible for any postal delay.
8. The candidate needs to submit the application as per the format. No change in serial no. order and the heading of the column to be made. Annexures may be added as separate sheets if required.
9. The application in the said format is to be properly filled and signed. Two recent self-signed passport-sized colour photographs are to be attached with stapled/pinned on the first page of the Performa format.
10. One set of self-attested xerox copies of all relevant certificates, the first page of all scientific publications (OnlyPUBMED indexed) and experiences if any must be attached with the application form.

Selection procedure –

The applications received will be scrutinized by the selection committee. Recruitments will be made through Interviews. The list of candidates found eligible will be displayed on the college website. The candidates are advised to check the institute website for the date, time and venue for the interview or written test. No separate communication will be sent to the candidates. Recruited candidates will be notified through email.

For Post I

Emoluments (Norms for Salary) in Rs. – 67000+HRA

Essential Qualifications –

Ph.D. in Microbiology / Biochemistry / Biotechnology /Molecular Biology/ Life Science.
or
First-class master’s degree(M.Sc./ M.Tech) in Microbiology/Biotechnology/Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/ Life science with the relevant subjects from a recognized university with
05years of research experience in the relevant subject after 1st class masters degree.
Or
2nd class M. Sc. + PhD degree in relevant subject from a recognized university.

Desirable Qualifications –

1. PhD candidates with research thesis work on infectious diseases supported by at least three original research publications in PUBMED indexed journals will be given preferences.
2. Any Post -doctoral research / past experience in Viral infectious disease diagnosis, epidemiological studies will be given preference.
3. Working experience of tissue culture/virus harvesting/cell line maintenance / viral gene expression study/ genetic basis of viral pathogenesis / viral diagnostic
   genetic marker.
4. Knowledge of Computer Applications (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Sequence phylogenetic analysis software, Business Intelligence tools, Data Management. Working knowledge of
   molecular bioinformatics tools like Bio edit, BLAST, Primer and Probe designing, phylogenetic analysis and sequence will be preferred.

Job Description – Real-time assessment of any viral outbreak if occur in Odisha. Ensure the proper sample collection and its transportation by health workers in case of laboratory investigation of any viral outbreak in Odisha. Ensure timely diagnosis of all viral disease investigations done in the laboratory. Writing of any significant laboratory work for publication in reputed journals. Compilation of laboratory work for half-yearly/annual report. Completion of any work assigned by PI and Co-PI in smooth functioning of VRDL.

For Post I

Second class M.Sc + PhD degree in the life sciences from a recognized University

Desirable Qualifications –

1. Research/training experience in Viral Diagnosis / Infectious disease outbreak diagnosis/field experience of sample collection and transport in a viral disease outbreak.
2. Working experience of tissue culture (virus isolation) / cell line maintenance / viral gene expression study/ genetic basis of viral pathogenesis / viral diagnostic genetic marker.
3. At least two original research publications (Published/ accepted) in PUBMED indexed journal will be given preferences.
4. Knowledge of Computer Applications (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Sequence phylogenetic analysis software, Business Intelligence tools, Data Management. Working knowledge of
   molecular bioinformatics tools like Bio edit, BLAST, Primer and Probe designing, phylogenetic analysis and sequence will be preferred.

Job Description – Ensure timely diagnosis of all viral disease investigations done in the laboratory. Maintenance of all documentation in terms of inventory/log book / SOP/ raising
demand for any equipment/chemical / plasticware / glassware / kits. Completion of any work assigned by PI and Co-PI in smooth functioning of VRDL.
