Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary positions of One Junior Research Fellow/Project Associate-I, and one Semi- Skilled labour in the DBT Multi-institutional project “Characterization of chickpea germplasm resource to accelerate genomics-assisted crop improvement”, under mission programme of “Characterization of genetic resources” under the supervision of Dr. Senthil-Kumar
Muthappa, Scientist, NIPGR.

Post I

Upper Age Limit: 35 years.

How to Apply:

The above positions are completely on a temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship/emolument amount for the above positions

are as sanctioned in the project and as per DBT/DST/Govt of NCT of Delhi norms. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier and the same can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving one month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.

For Post I

Qualification: Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019, with Master’s degree in Plant Pathology/Plant Mycology/Agriculture/life sciences with at least 55% (or equivalent) marks in master degree are eligible to apply. Experience in working with dry root rot disease in plants or any similar fungal pathology topics is a mandatory requirement. The work involves the establishment of a facility for screening chickpea germplasm for dry root rot disease, fungal taxonomic characterization, imaging/disease scoring/ phenotyping in laboratory, greenhouse and field conditions. So, the candidate must have demonstrated the ability to handle these requirements.

Qualifications: Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z05/2019 dated July 10, 2020, with a Master’s degree in Plant Pathology/Plant Mycology/Agriculture/life sciences with at least 55% (or equivalent) marks in master degree are eligible to apply. Experience in working with dry root rot disease in plants or any similar fungal pathology topics is a mandatory requirement. The work involves the establishment of a facility for screening chickpea germplasm for dry root rot disease, fungal taxonomic characterization, imaging/disease scoring/ phenotyping in laboratory, greenhouse and field conditions. So, the candidate must have demonstrated the ability to handle these requirements.
