Project Title: “Role of Caveolins as Potential Target for Neuroprotection in Epilepsy”

Name of the PI: Dr Yogananda S. Markandeya

Maximum age limit: 28 Years

Period of the post: 1 year. The initial appointment will certainly be made for a duration of 6 months and also will certainly be extended additional depending upon the performance of the applicant.

Qualification:

(i) M.Sc or M.Tech or M.Phil degree in Life sciences /Biotechnology/Microbiology/ Biochemistry/Biophysics with a good academic record.
(ii) Qualified NET/GATE/JGEEBILS/ICMR/INSPIRE or equivalent

Experience: Candidates with some experience in molecular biology are encouraged to apply.

Nature of Work: The project covers extensive electrophysiology (patch-clamp) and
fluorescence imaging in rodent brain slices (acute), and in primary cultures. Extensive qRT-PCR, western blotting, gene transfection, are required.

Emoluments: Rs. 31,000/- plus 30 percent HRA pm
