School of Biological Sciences (SBS) is a constituent autonomous institution of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV) (Deemed to-be University), Puducherry. SBV was established under section 3 of UGC Act 1956, accredited by NAAC with A Grade; ranked among the top 100 Universities by NIRF and recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India.

SBS is founded in the background of basic, clinical and translational research/knowledge-base of SBV with a new research-based learning and skill development institution beginning this academic year 2021. SBS has an integral opportunity and access to two Medical, Nursing & Engineering colleges, and one each of Dental, Pharmacy, Allied Health Sciences, and teacher-training institutions, offering discipline specific under-graduate, post-graduate,
diploma, super-specialty courses and doctoral programs.
With highly specialized courses offered by SBS and its successful completion, our

B.Sc in Biological Sciences
Duration: 03 years with 06 semesters
Eligibility: 12th Pass with 50% aggregate in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology /Computer Sciences

- Knowledge promotion in subjects like Vaccines & Diagnostics, Biodesign, Computational Biology, Stem Cell Biology, Synthetic Biology, etc.

M.Sc. in Biological Sciences (5- years Integrated)
Duration: 05 years with 10 semesters
Eligibility: 12th Pass with 50% aggregate in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology /Computer Sciences

M.Sc in Biological Sciences
Duration: 02 years with 04 semesters
Eligibility: An aggregate of 6.0 CGPA/50% marks in any UG branch of Life Sciences

P.G Diploma in Bio-Industrial Applications
Duration: 01 year with 02 semesters
Eligibility: Undergraduate degree in any branch of Sciences (Life / Chemical / Pharmaceutical) and Chemical Engineering

Course fees per semester
- Rs. 40,000 for B.Sc & M.Sc (Integrated)
- Rs. 50,000 for M.Sc and P.G.Diploma
- A stipend of Rs. 1000 per month for all students.
