NAME OF THE POST: Junior Research Fellow

NAME OF PROJECT: “Elucidating the functions of CHROMO domains – H3K9me3 interactions in plasmodium parasites with special focus on virulence genes”

AGE: Below 30 years as of May 22, 2021. Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms.

DURATION: Three years or till termination of the project whichever is earlier. Initial appointment will be for a period of one year and extendable till termination of the project based on performance evaluation on yearly basis.

Selection Procedure:

FELLOWSHIP: ₹ 31,000/- plus 16 percent HRA for NET/GATE qualified candidates. For others the emoluments will be as per DST/DBT guidelines.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. The candidate must have a consistent academic record with a first-class Master’s Degree in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry.
  2. The work includes the cultivation of malarial parasite under laboratory conditions; therefore the candidate should have at least 1-year of experience in P.falciparum culture.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

A candidate who have qualified National Eligibility Test – CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)/ or National Level Examination conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions viz., DBT-Biotechnology Eligibility Test/ Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology & Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JBEEBILS)/ ICMR Entrance Exam/ Approved DST Inspire Fellowship etc are preferred.
