Age: 35 years
Duration: The engagement will be originally for six months, which may be extended or curtailed depending upon the period of the tenure of the sponsored project as well as/ or performance or conduct of the appointee, as the case may be. The engagement will be totally short-term and shall not be CSIR/NCL appointment, temporary or otherwise, as well as shall not
entitle the appointee to any right/claim whatsoever, implicit or explicit, for his/her consideration against any type of CSIR/NCL post/fellowship.How to Apply:

Emoluments:
I) Rs. 31000/- + HRA to scholars who are selected with (a) National Eligibility Test CSIR-UGC NET including, lectureship (Assistant professorship) or (b) GATE or
II) Rs. 25000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (I) above
Job requirement: Identification, amplification and cloning of candidate gene, from sweet potato; Developing CRISPR-mediated gene knockout constructs using multiple guide RNAs; Generation of CRISPR-mediated transgenic sweet potato plants as well as their screening; storage root yield measurements from wild-type and transgenic lines grown in a greenhouse under controlled conditions. Maintenance of sweet potato plants in tissue culture facility.
Qualifications:
- Essential: M.Sc/ M.Tech in Biotechnology or M.Sc m Natural or Agricultural Sciences/ MVSc or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine Biotechnology, Microbiology or any type of branch in Life Sciences from Recognized University
- Desirable experience if any: Experience in routine molecular biology techniques (gene isolation, cloning, and also expression), bioinformatics analysis, plant transformation techniques, agroinfiltration experiment, in plants, experience/knowledge regarding advanced genome editing tools like CRISPR/Cas9.
