Age limit (according to date of interview):
i) Upto 28 years In case of JRF/GATE candidates up to thirty-one years (28 + 3 years for activation according to JRF guidelines).

iii) 3 years (up to 31 years) for OBC (Non-creamy layer).

Qualifications:
Essential:
(i) Masters (1st class) in Microbiology, Biotechnology or a related discipline of life science.
(ii) Applicant has to be qualified in any one of the following tests:
CSIR/UGC/ICMR including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) OR GATE National Level exam DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc., IISER etc.
Desirable:
(i) Hands-on experience in culturing of bacteriophages and/or anaerobic microbes.
(ii) Hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques.
