Project Title: “Role of Caveolins as Potential Target for Neuroprotection in Epilepsy”
Name of the PI: Dr Yogananda S. Markandeya
Age Limitation: 28 Years
Duration: Two years. The initial appointment will certainly be made for a duration of six months, which will be extendable depending upon the performance of the candidate.

The essential qualification for NIMHANS Job:
- M.Sc OR M.Tech OR M.Phil degree in Life sciences / Biotechnology/Microbiology/ Biochemistry/Biophysics with an excellent academic record.
- Qualified NET/GATE/JGEEBILS/ ICMR/INSPIRE or equivalent.
Experience: Applicants with some experience of molecular biology are encouraged to apply.
Nature of Work: The project covers extensive electrophysiology (patch-clamp) as well as fluorescence imaging in rodent brain slices (acute), as well as in primary cultures. Extensive qRT-PCR, western blotting, gene transfection, are required.
Salary: Rs. 31,000 plus 24 percent HRA per month
