flavivirus vaccine” funded by DBT

Conditions for NII Vacancy:

1. The candidates chosen for the above posts will be on contract for a single year or length of the project whichever is shorter, at a moment.
2. No hostel/ home centre will be supplied.
3. Applicants may clearly mention the class they belong to i.e. SC/ST/OBC/PH and attach documentary evidence of exactly the same.
4. No TA/DA is going to be compensated for attending the interview if called for.

Qualification for NII Vacancy: M.Sc. or M.Tech. in any area of life sciences with two years of post M.Sc experience. The applicant ought to have cleared any National Level Eligibility Test (NET/GATE etc). Candidates that have completed 2 years of experience after M.Sc. will certainly be considered as SRF position, based on DST standards.

Job Description & Desired Knowledge:

• The chosen applicant is expected to contribute to understanding the virology as well as immunology aspects of a licensed human flavivirus vaccine. Most of the work will certainly make use of PBMCs and serum as the sample from individuals enrolled under controlled vaccination study.
• The interested applicant needs to have basic concepts of virology as well as expected to have abilities in clinical virology research.
• Hands-on experience in cell culture, virus propagation, virus neutralization assay, Flow Cytometry, human primary cell culture and also PBMC handling is required.
• Applicants with hands-on experience in the clinical virology and also human immunology.

Emoluments for NII Vacancy: The selected candidates will draw consolidated emoluments according to Institute Rules, relying on qualifications & experience.

• Senior Research Fellow: Rs. 35,000/- each month plus 24% HRA
• Junior Research Fellow: Rs. 31,000/- each month plus 24% HRA (According To DST OM dated 30.01.2019).
