Other Details: General Central Service, Group-A, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. The posts are temporary but likely to be continued indefinitely.

Age: Not exceeding 35 years for General category applicants as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 40 years for Scheduled Tribes applicants as on normal closing date for openings reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central Government/UT Government Servant up to five years according to instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India every so often. Pay Scale As per 7th CPC

: Level-10 (Rs. 56100– 177500/-) in the Pay Matrix. (Total emoluments excluding T.A. and HRA at the time of initial appointment will certainly be Rs. 56100/- plus DA as applicable per month.)

Qualifications:

A. EDUCATIONAL:

Master’s Degree in Zoology or Botany or Anthropology or Human Biology or Biochemistry or Microbiology or Genetics or Biotechnology or Molecular Biology or Forensic Science with Zoology or Botany or Forensic Science as one of the subject at B. Sc. Level from a recognized University.

B. EXPERIENCE: 

3 years of experience in analytical methods/research therein in the pertinent field.

Note 1 Experience in the pertinent field means the experience of Research/Analytical methods therein in the field of Zoology or Botany or Anthropology or Biology or Life Science or Biochemistry or Microbiology or Genetics or Biotechnology or Molecular Biology.

Note 2 The qualification( s) regarding experience is/ are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC in case of candidates coming from Scheduled Tribes if at any type of stage of selection the UPSC is of the opinion that an adequate number of applicants from this community having the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill the openings reserved for them.

Note 3: Life Science indicates Human Biology.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION: Doctorate degree in concerned discipline from a recognized University or equivalent.

Duties:

The officers are required to examine crime exhibits, visit scenes of crime, to depose expert evidence in courts as well as to assist Senior Officer. The responsibilities attached to the posts additionally require research and development.
