Applications are invited for the post of ‘Junior Research Fellow’ in the DBT sponsored, simply time-bound research project entitled ‘MicroRNA profiling and deciphering their role in HIV-driven inflammatory responses at the female genital mucosa’. This post is short-term for the project duration of 2 months. Based on performance, the appointment could be extended further. The qualified applicant can also be considered for pursuing PhD.

SC/ST/PH and also women candidates are exempted from payment of the application fees. Candidates belonging to OBC must enclose the OBC Non-Creamy/ Creamy Layer certification for appointment under Government of India (from the competent authority empowered to issue such certification) at the time of Interview. Age, as well as experience, are relaxable in deserving candidates. This post is to be filled for the defined project period only. Applicants will certainly be shortlisted for the interview based upon merit and also will certainly be informed by means of e-mail. Preference will certainly be given to the candidates whoever having CSIR/UGC/NET, previous desirable laboratory experience similar research field, basic knowledge of polymers chemistry or experience.

Essential Qualification:

Post Graduate degree in Basic Science OR graduate/ post-graduate degree in the professional course selected through a procedure described via any one of the following:

a. Scholars who are selected via National Eligibility Test (NET) – CSIR UGC Net including lectureship and GATE.

b. The selection procedure through National level assessments carried out by main govt divisions and also their agencies as well as organizations such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS,.
DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR,IIT, IISc, IISER etc.

Desirable Qualification:

Laboratory experience in one or more of the following:

• molecular biology techniques (like RNA/DNA extraction, PCR, Bioinformatics.
• Tissue culture.

Job Responsibilities:

• Cervical sample processing and also carrying out laboratory assays including (yet not restricted to) RNA extraction, Real-time PCR for microRNA analysis, RNA Sequencing & analysis, pathway prediction as well as validation.
• Upkeep of cell lines as well as setting up of in vitro and ex Vivo assays, carrying out assays like Dual-luciferase assay, flow cytometry etc.,
• Data analysis & interpretation.
• Maintaining appropriate lab records of the laboratory assays.
• Assist Pl in project management.

Remuneration: Rs 31000/- plus HRA consolidated.
