COVID Experiment Gone Wrong – Chennai Pharma Firm Employee Dies

An employee of a Chennai pharma firm lost his life after conducting an experiment to find a cure for COVID-19.

With the scientists all around the world battling to find a cure for COVID-19, in Chennai, a medical experiment involving a pharma company founder and his long-term employee went horribly wrong leading to the loss of one’s life. According to the police, the duo was trying to invent a cure for COVID-19.

Sujatha Biotech is a pharma company that manufactures and sells the Velvette shampoo, the cough syrup ‘Nivaran 90’, and Memory Plus. As per police, the founder of this company, Dr. Rajkumar, and his company’s manager, Sivanesan (47) were conducting a medical experiment on themselves when the incident happened. For around 27 years, Sivanesan had been working in the company.

A police officer said, “These two men together mostly developed their products that are in the market. They assumed that somehow increasing the count of blood cells in the body would be one way to invent a cure for COVID-19. Thus, they both conducted an experiment in a lab at Rajkumar’s house in GN Chetty Road and ingested sodium

nitrate tablets.”

However, immediately after taking the tablets, they both fainted in the lab. In the wee hours of Friday, May 8, Sivanesam died of complications in the hospital after Rajkumar’s family members rescued the duo and admitted them to a private hospital in T Nagar.

The police officer added, “We are awaiting Sivanesan’s autopsy report and we have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC. We will alter the FIR based on the reports. Probing is still going on and there have been no arrests made yet.”

The medicines and chemicals from Rajkumar’s lab have been seized by the police and have been sent for medical and forensic analysis.
