RGCB MSc Biotechnology Admission 2019
RGCB is launching in July 2019, a highly innovative MSc Biotechnology Program with three unique specializations – Disease Biology, Molecular Diagnostics & DNA Profiling and Molecular Plant Sciences. The MSc program of RGCB will be affiliated to the Regional Centre for Biotechnology an “Institution of National Importance” providing education, training and research established by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India under the auspices of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization or UNESCO, a specialized agency of the United Nations (UN) based in Paris.

STUDY REAL BIOTECHNOLOGY WITH REAL BIOTECHNOLOGISTS
The MSc program at RGCB will be unique, as it will cover the fundamental fields of theories in Biotechnology, while focusing on laboratory exercises and industrial as well as research applications. The students will be introduced to the concepts of “Enterprise and Entrepreneurship”. This allows students who wish for a career beyond the laboratory in an existing biotechnology industry or for those who dream of starting a new biotechnology enterprise. Students get trained in a real business & technology development bio-incubator where startup companies function. RGCB MSc students will receive a stipend of
Rupees 6000 per month for the first year and Rupees 8000 for the second year of the MSc program.Eligibility
Students with 60% aggregate marks (or an equivalent grade point average) in UGC Approved Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science, Engineering, or Medicine, Ayurveda, other traditional systems of medicine BDS, BVSc, BPharm, B.Tech, BSc agriculture are eligible to be apply for admission. Students from the SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), and PWD categories shall be given a relaxation of 5% aggregate marks. Students in the final year of their qualifying degree program are also eligible to apply provided that they produce a proof of having secured the required marks in their undergraduate degree program at the time of admission.
Syllabus for the Entrance Exam
The exam will be of multiple choice type and will consist of two parts- Part A (30 questions) and Part B (100 questions). All questions in Part A is compulsory and will include current general knowledge, analytical ability, and reasoning. Part B will include questions from BSc level life sciences, chemistry, and basic level mathematics and physics. Students can answer any 70 of the 100 questions. There will be one mark for every correct answer and negative 1/4 mark for every wrong answer. Duration of the test will be three hours.
