M.Sc./ MPH / PBD / PGD / PGF / PhD COURSES AUGUST 2019 SESSION 

1. M.Sc. Allied Health Science Courses

A. M.Sc. Medical Biochemistry ( Course Code: 8901)

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicant should have qualified in a 3 year B.Sc. Degree Examination of a recognized University with

Biochemistry or Chemistry as the main subject with Biology / Botany /Zoology as ancillary subject OR candidates with B.Sc. Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized University.

DISTRIBUTION OF SEATS:

DURATION OF THE COURSE:

• The duration of the course is 3 (Three) years.
• There is no provision for sponsored/nominated candidates
• There are no stipendiary provisions during the course of study.

B. M.Sc. MLT – Microbiology (Course Code: 8902)

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants should have qualified in a 3 years B.Sc. Degree Examination of a recognized University with Microbiology / Biotechnology as main subject with Biology / Botany / Zoology as ancillary subject OR B.Sc. Zoology OR Candidates with B.Sc. Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized university.

C. M.Sc. MLT –Pathology (Course Code: 8903)

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants should have qualified in a 3 years B.Sc. Degree Examination of a recognized University with Medical Lab Technology / Biotechnology as main subject with Biology / Botany / Zoology as ancillary subject OR B.Sc. Zoology.

D. M.Sc. Medical Physiology (Course Code: 8904)

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants should have qualified in a 3 years B.Sc. Degree Examination of a recognized University with Physiology / Biotechnology as main subject with Biology /Botany / Zoology as ancillary subject OR B.Sc. Zoology OR Candidates with B.Sc. Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized university.

Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy) (Course Code: 8912 )

The Institute has invited applications for admission to Doctoral of Philosophy (PhD) Programme is being offered in the following departments.

All Candidates who are seeking admission for the PhD course will have to submit an application through online mode only. Any other mode of application will not be accepted under any circumstances.

ELIGIBILITY:

A candidate seeking admission to the course of study leading to the award of a Degree of Doctor of Philosophy must possess at least any one of the following qualifications with a minimum of one paper published in any indexed journals are alone eligible to apply. The paper should be an original article. Those candidates whose paper had been accepted also are eligible to apply.

For nonmedical candidates, eligibility shall be Master’s Degree (two / three years course) / awarded by Indian Universities or equivalent in the subject as per the requirement of the project. Candidates holding B.Tech. Degree in the subject as per the requirement of the project will be eligible for the Non-Medical Qualification Category.

Candidates should have at least 60% of the aggregate marks (55% in case of SC/ST/OBC/OPH candidates) in the qualifying examinations.

Candidate possessing a Master’s Degree through distant learning course shall not be eligible.

Desired qualifications:

The non-medical candidates should have preferably qualified in any one of the following national entrance tests in the last 2 years:

o Joint CSIR-UGC NET for JRF
o ICMR – JRF
o ICMR- SRF
o DBT – JRF
o DBT – SRF
o NBHM screening test
o Graduate aptitude test (GATE)
o INSPIRE Fellowship
o UGC- JRF
o UGC – SRF
o CSIR – JRF
o CSIR – SRF
o DST – JRF
o DST – SRF

NET qualified (Lectureship only) under DBT /DST/ ICMR / UGC will NOT be considered.

Candidates working under Central Govt./Semi Govt./Autonomous organization should submit their applications through proper channel i.e. employer. They will be required to submit a ‘No Objection Certificate” from their employer before they are allowed to join the Ph.D. Course as per Annexure – IV

The candidates, who are likely to complete requisite qualification and degree by 30th July, 2019 may also apply. However, the candidates who are completing their requisite qualification after 30th July,2019 are not eligible to take up this examination

Applicants from JIPMER Faculty/Scientific Staff for Ph. D. registration will be considered as in-service candidates as per guidelines laid down by JIPMER in this regard.

3) Read the prospectus and instruction carefully.
4) The flow chart for filling application on-line given as Appendix (ANNEXURE – IX ) in the Prospectus.
5) A CANDIDATE CAN APPLY ANY ONE OF THE FOLLOWING COURSES SUBJECT TO FULFILLING THE ESSENTIAL ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
