ABOUT LEADING FELLOWS PROGRAMME

The LEaDing Fellows Programme provides 90 researchers from all around the world who recently acquired a PhD, with the chance to gain two years of work experience in the challenging, globally acclaimed and multidisciplinary environment provided by Leiden University, Leiden University Medical Centre, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Erasmus Medical Centre and Delft University of Technology.

MARIE CURIE COFUND PROGRAMME

The LEaDing Fellows Programme is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND that will run from January 2017 till January 2022. The positions are provided in three different calls: February-March 2017, November-December 2017 and September-October 2018. The aim of the programme

is to provide opportunities for international, intersectoral and interdisciplinary research training. More general info about Marie Curie COFUND are available here.

WHAT IS UNIQUE ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP?

As a fellow you’re given the exceptional chance to set up your own research programme in research projects embedded in the 3 universities and their medical centres. The vast array of disciplines covered at the five partner institutions results in a situation where each postdoc finds an opportunity to deepen skills in their main sub-discipline or broaden their research scope by developing skills in adjacent fields of research. The research fields of the five partners are available here.

Fellows are employed by one of the five partners and are encouraged to take up internships at one of the other partners. Additionally we offer the option to work in our multidisciplinary Leiden-Delft-Erasmus centres and in Medical Delta and/or participate in research activities with our public or industrial collaborators.

Each of five partners are deeply involved in cooperation with non-academic partners like local startup incubators and science parks, people government bodies and industry. There’s wide variety of alternatives for cooperation with several partners in industry, government, start-ups or social organisations. High-tech start-ups and mature companies are situated near or on campus. This scenario provides a wealth of opportunities for LEaDing Fellows to become involved in actions involving non-academic partners.

We provide a working environment with extensive cutting edge research infrastructure and superb training opportunities.
