Dept. of Life Sciences, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) is organizing a National Conference on Emerging Trends in Production of Biofuels and Their Impact on Global Economy (ETPBIGE) between 27 – 28 July 2018. Interested students, researchers and experts are encouraged to register and submit their abstract for the conference whose details are given below:

About CHRIST:
CHRIST (Deemed to be University) was born out of the educational vision of St Kuriakose Elias Chava ra, an educationalist and social reformer of the nineteenth century in South India. He founded the first catholic indigenous congregation, Caramelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) in 1831 which administers CHRIST (Deemed to be University).
Department of Life Sciences:
The Department of Life Sciences is a unique department in the CHRIST where multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teaching and research in Life Sciences have established permanent roots. It is a diverse discipline that covers all branches of Biotechnology, Botany and Zoology in a dominant manner. This is one of the oldest Department of CHRIST started from the inception of the institution in 1969. This serves as a valuable foundation
to many students for understanding cellular and molecular level organization in living beings. The uniqueness of the Department essentially lies in the fact that within its faculty there are experts and active researchers representing almost all areas of modern biology.Two research laboratories have been set under the Department of Life Sciences to promote the research in basic science. It strives to promote all round development of students by inculcating a spirit of inquest, discipline and adventure through various academic and co-curricular activities. Apart from the syllabus, the Department emphasizes on value addition programs like current affairs, holistic education, certificate courses and placement training programs, which include training students in group discussions, facing interviews and so on.
Objective:
- The aim of the conference is to provide a common platform for interaction among the students, researchers and experts in the field of biofuels production and its application.
- It will provide an opportunity for the exchange of new ideas in the field of biofuels.
- Share the most advanced knowledge of both academic and industrial worlds, communicating with each other about their experiences and the upto date research achievements, taking forward the issues and future prospects in biofuel production.

Submission of Abstracts:
- Abstracts should be prepared not exceeding 350 words [Typed on A4 size paper with 2 cm margins on all the sides]
- The abstract should include the elements described as below:
Title of the paper, name(s) of author(s) with email ID, affiliation, introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion followed by keywords - Abstracts should be send to [email protected]
- The abstracts selected for oral and poster presentations will be communicated within 24 hours from the date of submission
- All presentations will be certified and first, second and third best presentations will be awarded
- The completed registration form, along with the registration fee should reach the Organizing Secretary on or before 9 (Monday) July 201 8.
- Selected full length papers will be published in the Mapana Journal of Sciences (ISSN0975-3303)
