Introduction to the Division /Function Affymetrix is part of GSD/CSD business in LSG. Affy is one of focus product line in GSD/CSD business. This role will have a great exposure & importance with lot of support from the larger commercial & cross functional teams.
Role Description
Technical Sales Specialist- Affy is a techno commercial role and meeting customers to understand the need & accordingly promote product range. The role is expected to actively participate in various seminars, scientific discussions (pre & post sale), Proof of concept (PoC) studies and product trainings for external and internal(Commercial team) customers.
Responsibilities
- Work with the regional sales and field application teams to identify, lead and drive the sales process for Affy product portfolio.
- Represent the Affymetrix product portfolio at public forums, conferences and other scientific events.
- Develop and nurture relationships with key opinion leaders in the field.
- Conduct pre and post- sale demos/scientific discussions
- Conduct internal & external product training programs
- Accountable for the business development & sales in your territory for Affymetrix
- Instrumentation and related reagents – Genotyping, Gene expression & Clinical.
Qualification
- Requires a minimum Master’s Degree in Life Sciences -Cell Biology, Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field; or the equivalent knowledge and industry/functional experience.
- PhD in life science and/or Previous sales experience preferred
- Excellent technical skill and experience in genotyping & Gene expression.

- Ability to navigate accounts in broad geography effectively and advance the capital equipment sales process consistently.
- Highly proficient sales and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple high value, long sales cycle business opportunities simultaneously.
- High motivation and energy level to develop new business
- Requires 60-70% travel and spend time with customers
