Position Description

  • Customer First: The Sales & Application Specialist is responsible for enhancing customer delight, strongly promote all product portfolios, build customer relationships while providing prompt, timely, relevant professional and accurate advisory and support service to customers on all QIAGEN products.
  • Sales & Application Expertise: The SAS must have strong technical skills, knowledge and basic sales skills, must be comfortable in supporting & promoting to customers like diagnostic labs, hospitals, research institutes, pathologists, Researchers, medical and lab scientists and must have proven experience in basic and applied molecular biology/ molecular diagnostics testing methods and excellent knowledge of QIAGEN products. The SAS must be able to do product/instrument demos and handle technical queries from the initial query to the implementation/advice of the solution, ensuring customer delight with per and post-sale troubleshooting.
  • Market Development: The SAS must be able to develop new business, explore new opportunities and develop plans to close projects and achieve assigned individual and team objectives. The SAS should be capable to Increase number of strategic partnerships and promotion of QIAGEN solutions within market, incl. workshops, seminars, exhibitions, road shows on their own.
  • Information systems: Utilize the Sales Force database to create and maintain customer data and provide accurate information that will increase effectiveness of pre-call planning, sales approach and opportunity management.
  • Communication: Organization of meetings and other communication channels to achieve effective communication within and across business units and ensure best service standards. The SAS must be comfortable working in teams.
  • Technical training/Skill development: The SAS is actively involved in the training and skill development of employees to increase knowledge and effectiveness of other customer facing functions and departments.
  •  Team Work: To have in depth coordination with team for reaching individual and shared goals for the region.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of Master Degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biomedicine or related area. PhD Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in diagnostic , Life Science or biomedical area or applied molecular biology and knowledge of relevant diagnostic, agriculture, biopharma, forensic etc. biological agents, markers and workflows.
  • Experience in customer management , portfolio growth management , work flow optimization which would lead to increase value and revenues for the organization, sales support through technical competency at all levels of the customer and intense value driven approach to reach common objectives with the team
  • Technical trouble shooting, consulting , optimization , laboratory design , training and development of QIAGEN solutions at Customer sites
  •  To deliver Lectures, talks , scientific sessions , workshops at customer sites to deliver value and have a delighted customer
  • Customer delight deliverables which would bring value to Customers, QIAGEN, Team and Self
  • Portfolio management at all levels
  • Proven experience of molecular techniques and troubleshooting including PCR, Real Time PCR, RNA/DNA extraction and manipulation.
  • Customer handling experience in managing accounts at all levels with effective communication.
  • Ability to provide training of assigned portfolio to sales team and at meetings.
  • Able to develop solutions to complex problems independently and through communication with other departments and regional and global resources.
  • Willingness to travel for more than 70%.
