The Diagnostics and Bioscience Research Group of Siemens Healthineers Technology Center in Bangalore, India is looking to recruit candidate who has a keen interest and passion to do interdisciplinary research and development in the areas of biology and biochemistry. This person will be involved in hands-on experimentation involving molecular, cellular and biochemical assays for measurements of biological phenomenon. The ideal candidate would combine knowledge of molecular biology and biochemistry with a passion for development of cost-effective diagnostic workflows. A practical hands-on ability to perform bench work in biological laboratories, use appropriate instrumentation and work in a multi-disciplinary team is required.

What are my responsibilities?
- Perform hands-on wet lab work to develop new workflows and assays or validate assays on existing and new instrumentation platforms
- Prepare test plan and protocol for assigned tasks
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data; prepare statistical and narrative reports and/or graphs, as appropriate
- Apply scientific method and experimental design in problem solving.
- Follow quality procedures
- Prepare manuscripts for publication; present research results to scientific conferences and other groups
- Generate Intellectual Property in her/his technology area
- Continually broaden professional expertise through comprehensive knowledge of scientific literature and competitive products
- Keep updated with the latest research, equipment, and/or systems in area of technical expertise
What do I need to qualify for this job?
- MS in biochemistry or equivalent disciplines or equivalent with 1 to 2 years R&D experience in assay development setting
- Strong hands on technical expertise and exposure to the state-of-art experimental techniques in biochemistry and molecular biology
- Demonstrated ability in molecular biology techniques including plasmid isolation, plasmid construction, recombinant protein expression and purification, DNA modifying enzymes, RNA/ DNA amplification, are essential
- Hands on experience, including assay design with one or more immunoassay techniques such as ELISA and its variants and a concept of immunoassays in general, including techniques such as flow cytometry and nephlometry
- Tissue Culture experience is desirable
- Experience with NGS technologies is desirable
- Demonstrated technical proficiency in scientific writing or scientific creativity
- Excellent organizational, record keeping and communication skills
- A strong work ethic to generate high quality data under tight deadlines in a fast-pace environment, collaborative and proactive attitude a must
- Strong problem solving ability & analytical skills
- Creative, self-directed, and a team player with strong startup mentality
- Experience with some simple computer coding is a plus
- Experience with design of experiments, statistical and data analysis software is a plus
