Job Title: Research Scientist I & II – Biologics (downstream)
Work Location : Work Location: Pharma R&D Centre located at Taramani, Chennai.
Job Description:
- To work closely with upstream and bio-analytical teams to develop robust downstream processes for biosimilars.
- To design and execute protein chromatography and membrane separation experiments.
- To conduct experiments on scale-down models of downstream process.
- To assist in execution of downstream process validation, resin life time and cleaning studies
- To prepare procedures and guidelines for conducting downstream process experiments
- To plan and coordinate protein purification experiments including chromatography and membrane purification.
- To assist in purchase of reagents and consumables for conducting downstream experiments.
- To analyze experimental data and ensure data accuracy and report compilation.
Conducting training for research staff on procedures to conduct downstream process experiments. - To assist in maintaining protein purification infrastructure, including equipments and accessories.
- Assist the team in maintaining data, records and developmental summaries.
Ensure the Good Lab Practices and personnel safety.

Qualifications: Ph.D. / M.Sc. in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering and Protein Science
Experience:
- Ph.D. with 2 years or M.Sc.5 to 7 years
- Relevant industrial experience in design and development of purification process for recombinant protein pharmaceuticals and monoclonal antibodies
- Experience in process design, process development, process scale-up and process validation and characterization from a reputed organization
