Transfer of erstwhile Progeny Testing Bull Farm Hisar from the Haryana State Government, to the Indian Council of Agricultural Research in the year 1985, paved the way for the establishment of the Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes (CIRB) . Available infrastructure, land, assets and buffalo herd of the Progeny Testing Bull Farm were transferred to the CIRB and the Institute started functioning from 1st February 1985 at Hisar. The Institute has approved cadre strength of 40 scientists of which 34 scientists are in position, including at the sub-campus. The institute carries out research on various aspects of buffalo improvement including conservation of germplasm, development of optimum diets and feeding systems, enhancement of reproductive efficiency and health management practices for augmenting milk, meat and draught performance of the species. ICAR -Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes, Hisar (Haryana) will conduct walk-in-interview for contractual position of Senior Research Fellow as per details mentioned below.

Name of the project: Generation of induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells from
buffalo fibroblasts through non-viral approaches
Duration: The post will be filled initially till August 2017 or if found satisfactory, till termination of project if the project duration is extended by the funding agency
Qualifications: M.V.Sc. or M. Tech in Biotechnology, Reproduction, Physiology, Genetics OR
M.Sc. in Life Sciences or Biotechnology with NET qualification
Experience: Two years of research experience
Desirable: Ph. D. in relevant subject/ working experience in cell/tissue culture and molecular biology
Emoluments: Rs. 28000/- per month + HRA per rules
Age Limit: Upper age limit is 35 years for men and 40 years for women on the date of interview. Age relaxation for SC/ST and OBC candidates as per rules.
Terms & Conditions:
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending interview.
- Those who are already in service should produce no objection certificate from employer at the time of interview.
- There is no provision for re-engagement after termination of the project as the fellowship/position is coterminus with the project.
