Sun Pharmaceutical Industries has appointed Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni as the brand ambassador for its bestselling health supplement brand, Revital H. The appointment is in line with the company’s plans to reposition the brand 25 years after its launch on the planks of fostering fitness and active lifestyle.

In a press release, the company said the appointment fits in well with active lifestyle value proposition of the Revital H brand. The brand has a strong hold in the country’s northern, central and eastern regions, and Sun Pharma plans to strengthen its market presence in western and southern India.

Subodh Marwah, Sun Pharma’s head for global consumer healthcare business stated, “The constant need to do more and get maximum out of every sphere of life is what’s driving the increasing preferences for health supplements across India. In order to appeal to this emerging lifestyle context as well as the evolving consumption patterns in this category, we are repositioning Revital H for active lifestyles from just physical energy.

The vitamin and dietary health supplement market in India is estimated to be Rs 8,828 crore and growing at 12%, with top 10 brands including Revital H contributing almost 48% to revenues

. Sun Pharma is also planning to launch a new campaign featuring Dhoni done by Lowe Lintas.
