A Junior project assistant position at IISER Kolkata for a Grant-in-Aid project
of Dr. Amit Kumar Mandal, (as PI). The project is funded by the Indian Council of
Medical Research (ICMR) under the Adhoc Project Program
Project Title: ” Analysis of genetic variants of human hemoglobin and its effect in the
assessment of glycated hemoglobin”
Funding agency: Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)

Essential Qualification: M.Sc degree in either Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Chemistry/Molecular Biology/Medical Biochemistry as
essential qualification.
Age limit: Must not be over 32 years as of 1st December, 2022 which can be relaxed
for certain reserved categories as per the prevailing rules of the Government of India.
Remuneration: Rs. 16,000/- (Rupees Sixteen thousand only
) per month(consolidated).
Tenure: Initially, the appointment will be given for a period of 1 (one) year.

Terms and Conditions for Biochemistry/Biotechnology Job:
i. No TA / DA will be offered for appearing in the interview.
ii. The appointment of the candidate will be governed by the terms and conditions of
the said project of the funding agency.
iii. The decision of the selection committee will be final.
iv. If the number of applicants is large, the selection committee may decide to restrict
the number of candidates for the interview to a reasonable limit after considering
qualifications and experience over and above the minimum prescribed in the
advertisement.
v. The selected candidate will have to join duty immediately upon receipt of the offer.
vi. The job may be terminated with a 30-day notice before completion of the tenure if
performance is not deemed satisfactory.
