- Position Title: Crystallographer – Structural Biology
- Location: Hyderabad, Telangana, India
- Type: Full-time, On-site
Key Responsibilities
- Design, set up, and optimize protein crystallization screening and optimization experiments (sitting drop, hanging drop, microbatch, as applicable).
- Performing biophysical analyses like nDSF or DLS for checking protein stability and aggregation in different buffers.
- Perform crystal harvesting, cryoprotection, shipment and diffraction data collection.
- Ability to troubleshoot crystallization and diffraction-related challenges.
- Analysis and understanding of processed diffraction data.
- Knowledge of data processing, model building, refinement, validation, ligand fitting, and relevant software to support SBDD projects.
- Assist in troubleshooting crystallization and diffraction challenges, improving success rates.
- Knowledge of protein purification from different expression systems ensuring the quality of crystallization-grade proteins.
- Maintain accurate documentation contemporaneously and generate technical reports and presentations for all stakeholders.
- Method development and continuous improvement in crystallography workflows.
- Contribute to data management and archival of crystallographic datasets.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Biochemistry or Biotechnology or related field
- Ph.D. in Structural Biology with 1-3 years of experience.
- Hands-on experience in protein crystallization, co-crystallization, and soaking.
- Practical exposure to data collection, data analyses and structure determination in SBDD workflows.
- Competence in protein expression and purification workflows; hands-on experience is an added advantage.
