Key Responsibilities

  • Work on synthetic biology–related projects applied to disease biology, diagnostics, biosensing, and healthcare innovation.
  • Perform experimental molecular biology research.
  • Conduct bacterial culture work.
  • Develop biological assays.
  • Translate biological systems toward biomedical applications.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biosciences, Bioengineering, Synthetic Biology, or a closely related field.
  • Ph.D. thesis must already have been submitted at the time of application.

Experience Required

  • Significant hands-on experience in molecular biology experiments and bacterial culture work.
  • Practical experience with aseptic techniques.
  • Experience in bacterial growth and maintenance.
  • Experience in transformation.
  • Experience in plasmid preparation.
  • Experience in cloning.
  • Experience in gene-expression workflows or related microbiology/molecular biology methods.
  • Interest in applying synthetic biology approaches to disease-related and healthcare-focused problems.
  • Ph.D. awarded within the last 12 months.
  • Less than 1 year of post-Ph.D. experience.
  • At least one first-author Q1 journal publication.
