Key Responsibilities
- Work on synthetic biology–related projects applied to disease biology, diagnostics, biosensing, and healthcare innovation.
- Perform experimental molecular biology research.
- Conduct bacterial culture work.
- Develop biological assays.
- Translate biological systems toward biomedical applications.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biosciences, Bioengineering, Synthetic Biology, or a closely related field.
- Ph.D. thesis must already have been submitted at the time of application.
Experience Required
- Significant hands-on experience in molecular biology experiments and bacterial culture work.
- Practical experience with aseptic techniques.
- Experience in bacterial growth and maintenance.
- Experience in transformation.
- Experience in plasmid preparation.
- Experience in cloning.
- Experience in gene-expression workflows or related microbiology/molecular biology methods.
- Interest in applying synthetic biology approaches to disease-related and healthcare-focused problems.
- Ph.D. awarded within the last 12 months.
- Less than 1 year of post-Ph.D. experience.
- At least one first-author Q1 journal publication.
