Recruitment for Contractual Position of Project Manager under the Project “Setting up Early Translation Accelerator (ETA) entitled: To transform academic discoveries in the field of industrial Biotechnology with possible commercial and societal impact into economically viable ventures and technologies” at BBB, RCB

Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) is an institution of national importance and statutory body established by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India, with regional and global partnerships synergizing with the programmes of UNESCO as a Category II Centre. The primary focus of RCB is to provide world-class education, training, and conduct innovative research at the interface of multiple disciplines to create high-quality human resources in disciplinary and interdisciplinary areas of biotechnology in a globally competitive research milieu.

RCB, in association with Biotechnology Industrial Research Assistance Council (BIRAC),

a Govt. of India Enterprise, has established Bio-Incubator to stimulate the establishment and growth of biotechnology-based startup companies. BBB provides excellent incubation facilities infrastructure, spread across 35,000 sq. ft. covered area, which includes Lab Space, Office Space, Professional Business Suites, Culture Facility, and Instrumentation Facility.

The Centre invites online applications from dynamic, result-oriented, and dedicated eligible candidates for the following contractual position under the above-mentioned project funded by Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC):

Position: Project Manager

Monthly Emolument: Maximum consolidated emoluments up to Rs. 90,000/- per month

Age Limit: 40 Years

Essential Requirements:

• PhD in life sciences with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in reputed scientific organizations or within the industry.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing life sciences projects, preferably in the areas of bioprocess technology, biotherapeutics, or biopharma.
• Proven track record of successfully coordinating interdisciplinary teams to deliver complex projects within scope and deadlines.
• Strong project management skills, with expertise in overseeing the development and execution of life sciences projects.

Job Description:

• Manage the development and implementation of the ETA project, ensuring all project objectives are met on time, within scope, and on budget.
• Scout for potential technologies in the specific domain and consult the inventor (or) the academia to discuss the translational projects in such scouted technology and present to the expert Committee.
• Collaborate with external organizations, experts, and stakeholders for specific expertise towards accelerating the Technology Readiness Level (TRL).
• Ensure efficient use of resources (financial, human, technical) in line with project needs and timelines.
• Manage comprehensive documentation on project selection, progress, monitoring, & outcomes and share them with BIRAC at regular intervals.
• Identify potential risks, devise mitigation strategies, and handle issues promptly to avoid project delays or disruptions.
• Manage Technology Accelerator Agreements with the originator/inventor entity, academia, and the industrial partner contributing towards the project.
