Call of Applications for Summer Internship Programme
Applications are invited for the Summer Internship Programme for 5 to 8 weeks, commencing from 15th May to 15th July, 2025, without any fellowship. The internship will be in offline mode, and candidates are required to apply online.
The department will prepare the selection criteria and merit list depending on the requirement for the number of interns.

The last date for submission of applications is 28th Feb, 2025 (Friday).
Candidates must select a Research Supervisor in their relevant field of study/course. They have an option in the form to select a maximum of 3 Research Supervisors.
The candidates are required to complete their internship in one department under one supervisor only.
Hostel Accommodation & Facilities
- Hostel accommodation on a sharing basis will be provided, subject to availability, on a chargeable basis.
- The application for accommodation (only after selection for the internship) should be submitted to the office of Dean of Student Affairs through the faculty supervisor and the HOD for permission.
- The cost towards food and access to other amenities must be paid by the student.
- Accommodation is only available if the student pursues the internship between 15th May to 15th July, 2025.
Financial Assistance
- No financial assistance will be provided to the candidates.

Ques.1: How to edit my submitted application for summer internship 2025?
Ans.1 You can edit your submitted application by logging into the portal using your ID and Password.
Ques.2: What to upload for the Transcripts demanded in the document section?
Ans.2 Transcript is the consolidated sheet indicating your marks/CGPA earned in previous semesters. In case you don’t have the same, you can attach your previous semesters’ gradesheets.
Ques.3: Is it necessary to attach a bonafide certificate with an application?
Ans.3 Yes.
Ques.4: What is the format for the bonafide certificate?
Ans.4 The bonafide certificate can be in the format as issued by your institute/college/university. The candidate should include his/her present year of study and the degree pursuing.
Ques.5: Can any candidate who is presently not enrolled in any UG or PG program in any university/college/institute apply for this internship?
Ans.5 For the summer internship, the candidate needs to be a bonafide student of an institute/college/university (mentioned in the published advertisement).
Ques.6: When will the list of selected candidates be released or when will we be notified?
Ans.6 After the last date of application (mentioned in the advertisement), the process of scrutinization will commence, which will take a few days. You need to regularly visit the website for updates. However, an intimation email from the department will also be forwarded to the selected candidates.
Ques.7: How should I select a Research Supervisor?
Ans.7 The candidates are advised to visit the Website of IIT Ropar and select the appropriate department and research supervisor according to his/her interest. After selecting, the candidates fill in the name of the research supervisor in the online form.
