Field Application Scientist – Job Description
We are now looking for a motivated and experienced Field Application Scientist to join us.
As a Field Application Scientist at QTLomics Technologies, you will be responsible for implementing, training, onboarding, and delivering outstanding service to our customers. You’ll need to learn the services/products quickly and deliver frontline implementations, support, and training to users in the field. In addition, you will deliver customer demos and support customer services/product evaluations.
You will lead and project manage implementations in which you will interface directly with the Company Director and Operations Head on one hand and Seed Companies, Agricultural Institutes, and Agricultural Universities on the other. In addition to direct customer interaction, you’ll help define, document, and develop the support processes. This is a great growth opportunity for those interested in embracing Agri genomics in pre-breeding, breeding, and post-plant breeding spaces.
Responsibilities:
- Lead new customer implementations and go-live, including workflow definition, onboarding, and user training.
- Present company services and products credibly and with scientific and technical depth.
- Attend conferences and workshops.
- Support customer research projects evaluation and deliver configured customer demos.
- Manage and resolve customer support issues.
- Where required, escalate technical services/product issues to the lab and bioinformatics personnel, and work with lab researchers to facilitate resolution.
- Build support infrastructure and processes, developing documentation and training materials.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers.
- Analyze support case trends and report back to the service/product team to help improve the service/product.
- Prior experience supporting customers in a highly technical field, with a demonstrated commitment to customer success.
- Continuously works with the manager on improving the overall technical expertise, scientific rigor, and processes of the application team.
- Experience working with next-generation sequencing and genetic variant data is a plus.
- Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and in a dynamic team environment.
- Travel within and outside Bangalore.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Fast learner with a passion for commercializing services/products that truly advance the field of Agri genomics.
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Life Sciences (Molecular Biology, Genomics, Genetics, Bioinformatics) or related fields.
