BRINGING IT TO THE ROLE
KFC India Hiring. We are seeking a QA resource to support Quality Assurance Services for Yum! Brands – KFC India. You will be primarily responsible for maintaining and improving quality and food safety systems in restaurants and suppliers, with a focus on achieving “TRUST IN EVERY BITE.” Additionally, you will support new product development, operational simplification, training at store level, and new projects.
Quality assurance compliance:
- Perform supplier/DC audits and coordinate with third parties and suppliers for supplier audit planning, review, and ensuring timely submission of corrective actions.
- Manage TrueView for supplier audits, corrective actions, specifications, QAP, product cutting, and KPI. Actively participate in TrueView core team meetings to improve system functionality.
- Implement food safety systems at restaurants according to global standards and provide technical advice to prevent food safety issues. Train store teams on food safety standards through a “back to basic” program.
- Follow up on emergency deviations raised during internal restaurant audits and advise the operations team on store closure decisions. Close the closure decision data in the website within the given timeframe.
- Track and maintain fresh produce traceability. Collaborate closely with the franchisee team and SCM team to improve fresh produce traceability.
- Support the SCM team in new vendor development and coordinate with suppliers for visits, GFSI compliance, specification and label closure, and other mandatory requirements as per Yum.
- Support QA function through 60-70% travel to supplier locations for routine visits/audits, product cutting, new product launches, and handling product complaints.
Technical competencies:
- Support NPD team in timely launching new products by providing technical inputs on process and product in cross-functional weekly meetings. Close new product specifications, labels, HACCP plans with suppliers. Complete nutrition analysis, determine shelf life, and validate final product delivery before launch.
- Ensure that current specifications and labels comply with FSSAI regulations and internal global standards. Collaborate with R&D team on clean labels.
- Monitor supply product quality by conducting regular cutting sessions and following up on corrective actions required from suppliers. Update the product cuttings in a centralized system.
- Ensure Yum Class 1&2 approved suppliers consistently conform to Yum & FSSAI specifications for physical, chemical, microbiological, and antibiotic attributes.
- Conduct bi-annual analysis of all KFC products as per FSSAI regulations.
- Track and improve quality complaint process and follow-up activities like RCA and verification of corrective actions to ensure food safety and quality of products.
- Provide technical inputs on local legislation amendments, addition of new product standards, and statutory compliance to support the regulatory head.
We are looking for someone with:
- Graduate/Post-graduate in Science, Food Technology, or Dairy Technology, preferably with additional professional qualifications.
- 4-6 years of relevant QA experience, preferably in the food industry or QSR industry.
- Working knowledge of product costing.
- Working knowledge of food processing/production.
- Working knowledge of food safety tools & techniques. Trained on HACCP & GFSI schemes (e.g., BRC/FSSC 22000).
- Working knowledge of product characteristics, evaluation processes, and applications.
- Effective communication, goal planning, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada.
- Open to travel.
