Post I
Name of the Post: Research Associate – I
Number of posts: 01 (One)
Name of the Project: Characterization of Pseudogene-like CTs in Ovarian Cancer.
Name of the PI: Dr. Sharmila Bapat
Essential Qualification & Experience:
Ph. D/MD/MS/MDS or equivalent degree or having 3 years of research, teaching and design and development experience after MVSc/M.Pharm/ME/M.Tech with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.
Desirable Experience: Experience in molecular biology (PCR, Cloning, protein expression, western blotting, Fluorescence In-Situ Hybridisation, Immuno-precipitation, cell fractionation), bioinformatics and/or RNA biology (In-vitro transcription/translation, RNA FISH, RNA pull down).

Essential Qualification & Experience:
Ph. D/MD/MS/MDS or equivalent degree or having 3 years of research, teaching and design and development experience after MVSc/M.Pharm/ME/M.Tech with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.
Desirable Experience:
Experience in animal immunization experiments, reverse genetics, antibody generation / engineering. Experience in molecular biology and cell culture is must.

Total Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 47,000/- + HRA

Essential Qualification & Experience:

Candidate should have some experience with the following techniques, as evidenced by at least one first author publication in a peer-reviewed national and international journal.

✓ Antibody generation in Rabbit and Isolation & purification of IgG

Name of the Project: Understanding the role of specific serotonin receptor signaling in modulating the antigen-specific immunity to control tumor growth.

Essential Qualification & Experience:
Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / MVSc or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent;
And 2 years’ experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations and Scientific activities and services.
Desirable Experience: Due to timely execution of project in the given period, the preference will be given to the candidate have studied the immunology, and have experience in cell culture, able to handle the small laboratory animals such as mice, experience in performing immunological experiments such as ELISA, flow cytometry and multicolor microscopy.

Name of the Project: Studying the liquid-liquid phase separation properties associated with a transcriptional co-activator.
Name of the PI: Dr. Amitabha Majumdar
Essential Qualification & Experience:
Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / MVSc or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable Experience: Candidate having some experience in some of these techniques (cloning, protein expression and purification, immunoprecipitation, live imaging, handling cell cultures for S2/Sf9 and mammalian cells, fly genetics) will be preferred. The candidate needs to be confident about working independently, and have good writing and communication skills and habit of following scientific literature. It is important to be interested in phase separation of proteins in transcription regulation and is expected to read about it. Due to the nature of this project the candidate most importantly needs to commit for the entire duration of the project.
Project Tenure: Up to 20.01.2025

Other important Points:
- The Director, NCCS reserves the right to enhance/reduce the number of posts and cancel the recruitment process, if required. Additional percentage and experience cut-off will be applied during the screening process, if required.
- The prescribed educational qualifications and experience are the bare minimum and mere possession of same does not entitle candidates to be called for Walk in Interviews. The Centre reserves the right to call for Walk in Interviews only those candidates who in its opinion are likely to be suitable.
- Number of candidates to be called for the interview may be restricted to a reasonable limit after taking into consideration the essential qualifications and desirable experience over and above the minimum prescribed, in the advertisement. Therefore, it will be in the interest of the candidates, to mention all the qualifications and experience in the relevant field at the time of applying. No interim enquiries/correspondence/ communication of any sort will be entertained on this matter.
- The above advertised positions are filled up purely on temporary basis for the limited time period on the extramural projects funded by various funding agencies. The position will automatically co-terminus on the completion of the candidate’s tenure. The appointed person shall have no claim of appointment/absorption in funding agency or in NCCS, Pune.
- Fellowship/Emoluments: Emoluments to the research personnel engaged under project will be made in accordance with the sanction order or latest DST O.M whichever the case may be.
