Hey, since you seem to be curious about the role of Officer Quality Control (Microbiology) – API at Takeda, then check out some of the possible interview questions below and the answers.

  1. Can you explain the process of Steam/Dry Heat sterilization cycles? How would you ensure its effectiveness in a pharmaceutical industry setting?
    • Answer: Steam/Dry Heat sterilization is a critical process for ensuring the sterility of equipment and materials. It involves subjecting them to high temperatures to kill microorganisms. I would ensure its effectiveness by following proper procedures, monitoring temperature and time parameters, and validating the sterilization cycles regularly.
  2. How would you perform growth promotion test for media used in microbiological testing? What factors would you consider during the test?
    • Answer: The growth promotion test is conducted to ensure the suitability and performance of the media. I would perform the test by inoculating the media with specified microorganisms and assessing their growth. Factors such as temperature, incubation time, and positive/negative controls would be considered during the test.
  3. How would you conduct environmental monitoring of controlled areas in the microbiology laboratory and manufacturing area? What parameters would you measure?
    • Answer: Environmental monitoring involves assessing the microbial and particulate contamination levels in controlled areas. I would conduct regular air and surface sampling, using techniques like settle plates or active air sampling. Parameters such as total viable count and identification of specific microorganisms would be measured.
  4. How would you handle the calibration and validation activities of laboratory instruments? What steps would you follow?
    • Answer: Calibration and validation ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory instruments. I would handle these activities by first reviewing the instruments’ annual maintenance contracts and coordinating with external parties for the necessary activities. The steps would include planning and scheduling the calibration/validation, executing the procedures, documenting the results, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  5. How would you contribute to maintaining data integrity and compliance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards in the Quality Control Department?
    • Answer: To maintain data integrity, I would follow good documentation practices, adhere to standard operating procedures, and ensure proper data recording and storage. Regarding ISO 14001 (environmental management) and OHSAS 18001 (occupational health and safety) standards, I would actively participate in environmental protection initiatives, promote safe working practices, and support audits and inspections to meet the requirements of these standards.
