Eligible and interested candidates are invited for a walk-in-interview (virtual) to be held online, at ICAR – Indian Institute of Millets Research, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, on 2
nd & 3rd December 2021 from 10:30 A.M. onwards for recruitment of the following positions under the below-mentioned projects as per the details given below.

Terms & Conditions

  1. The above posts are purely temporary and on a contractual basis till the expiry of the project.
  2. The age limit of the above position is up to 40 years as of the date of the interview. (Age can be relaxed up to 5 years in case of 1 and 2 positions with higher experience)
  3. The relaxation in the upper age limit is five years for SC/ST/women candidates and three years for OBC candidates as per rules.
  4. The candidates shall send filled in Applications in the proforma enclosed along with a passport size photograph and a set of self-attested copies of requisite mark-sheet, certificates and supporting documents.
  5. Candidates have to produce all the original certificates at the time of the interview for verifications.
  6. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
  7. Report for registration from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM on the date of interview (Virtual), candidates need to wait till they are called/allowed to the meeting for the interview as per the list.
  8. The decision of the Director, ICAR-IIMR is final and binding in all respects.
  9. The selected candidates shall not claim for regular appointment/absorption in ICAR-IIMR, Hyderabad or funding agency at the end of the project.
  10. Canvassing in any form will lead to the cancellation of candidature.

Post I 

Name of the post – Project Manager

Project – MoFPI-PMFME

Emoluments – Rs. 1,00,000/- Per month (Consolidated)

Essential Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Food Technology/ Food Science and Nutrition with Minimum 60% marks.
  • 4-6 years experience in Millet processing units

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in FMCG/ Food Sector, experience in handling of millets processing machinery, primary processing machinery, commissioning and scheduling, working knowledge on lab equipment, Value-added product costing and documentation skills.
  • Development of Business plans, Marketing plans, preparing DPRs, etc.
  • Expertise in establishing millet processing lines and product development
  • Proficiency in English, and handling computer software MS Office.
  • Willing to travel for field visits in various project related states.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Planning, executing and supervising administration and operations of the entire project on a regular basis.
  • Coordination with the management & various other stakeholders and communicate the status and progress of the project in consultation with the PI
  • Plan for Utilisation of budget and preparation of financial statements in consultation with PI
  • Predict resources needed to achieve the objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner- Ingredients procurement and linkages with FPO’s
  • Establishing Backward and forward linkages
  • Establishing Pilot plants replicating Nutrihub model
  • Coordinating with other stakeholders in various states, at the National level and State level
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan of the project.
  • Streamlining Research leadership for efficient output and supervising the team on a need basis.
  • Managing contracts and tenders with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and
    communicating expected deliverables.
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the entire project execution.
  • Measure project performance and identify the areas for improvement.
  • Demonstrate the ability to foresee, plan and self-correct any pending project risks which may impede progress or budget, and thereby determine and take corrective and appropriate action.
  • Define success and manage milestone deliverables as per prescribed deadlines with clear plans & proposals, and empower the team to be responsible for delivery.
  • Handle lab equipment and different machinery including cereals processing machinery,
  • post-harvest machinery, primary processing machinery etc.
  • Frequently update all project-related documentation, status reports and stakeholder management throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Motivating staff to accomplish their routine tasks.
  • Organize workshops, conferences, exhibitions, training programmes and other such events to promote the activities of the organization and the project.
  • Represent the organization and the project at different professional Forums and Conferences.
  • Estimate and prepare product costing based on the costs of raw materials and manufacturing to ensure the production of profitable products.
  • Travel to field visits, exposure trips to have a better understanding of the latest developments and needs of the project and Transfer IIMR technologies to micro-units.
  • Any other work allocated by PI/CEO or other designated authority from time to time.

Post II 

Name of the post – Research Manager (Food Technology)

Project – MoFPI-PMFME

Emoluments – Rs. 80,000/- Per month (Consolidated)

Essential Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Food Technology/Food Science & Nutrition/Microbiology/Agribusiness
    Management/ Food Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks.
  • PhD degree will be an additional qualification.
  • 2-3 years of research experience in relevant fields.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in FMCG/ Food Sector, experience in handling of millets processing machinery, primary processing machinery, commissioning and scheduling, working knowledge on lab equipment, Value-added product costing and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in English, and sufficient knowledge in MS Office and computer usage.
  • Willing to travel for field visits to microprocessing units from various states
  • Prior experience in premier institutes such as NIFTEM/CFTRI/IIT’s etc will be added advantage.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design and development of new processed food products and recipes.
  • Work closely with the product development and production teams to help deliver factory-ready products.
  • Basic studies on Shelf life enhancement of milled and value-added products of millets
  • Research on the latest trends and technologies, and understand the consumer markets.
  • Devise, new product specifications, product development, quality parameters, shelf life etc.
  • Design and development of packing, packaging and labelling materials.
  • Re-evaluating the existing product line and making necessary changes wherever required.
  • Conducting various studies and surveys to understand changing needs, food preferences and taste trends of the consumers.
  • Coordinate with technical and commercial departments in procurement, sales, technical services, production and marketing & distribution.
  • Coordinate with different stakeholders of Food Technology including research institutions and food inspection agencies.
  • Monitor and improve the safety and quality control procedures and parameters at different stages, from the raw material stage to the finished product. Manage and oversee the safety, quality and legality of food produced.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders in the value chain to promote and maintain the
    visibility of the organization.
  • Organize workshops, conferences, exhibitions, training programmes and other such events to promote the activities of the organization and the project.
  • Represent the organization and the project at different professional Forums and Conferences.
  • Project reporting and documentation in terms of publishing research articles and popular literature
  • Travel to field visits and exposure trips to have a better understanding of the latest developments and needs of the project.
  • Any other work allocated by PI/CEO

Post III 

Name of the post – Research Associate

Project – NAIF-ABI

Emoluments – Rs. 49,000/-+HRA (For Master’s degree holders) Rs. 54,000/- +HRA (For PhD Holders) **HRA as per ICAR rules and regulations

Essential Qualifications

With Doctoral Degree

PhD. Degree in Food Technology /Food Sciences & Nutrition/ Food Chemistry
(Or)

With Master’s degree holders

Master’s degree in the relevant subject with 4/5 years of Bachelor’s degree having 1st division or 60% marks or equivalent overall GPA, with at least three years of research experience as evidenced from Fellowship/ Associateship/ Training/ other engagements and one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI / NAAS rated (≥4.0) Journal.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in new product development, working knowledge on advanced food processing techniques and knowledge in isolation of plant proteins, nanoparticles application in product development especially with reference to millets; food chemistry and nutrition; expertise in handling lab instruments, ability to analyze statistical data and proven documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in English, and knowledge in MS Office and computer usage.
  • Willing to travel to field sites also

Post IV

Name of the post – Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

Project – NAIF-ABI

Emoluments – Rs. 31,000/- + HRA (HRA as per ICAR guidelines)

Essential Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Food Technology/ food science and nutrition. Food chemistry,
    Candidates having Post Graduate degree in Basic Sciences with 3 years Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master’s Degree should have NET qualification and 2 years of research experience.
  • Having secured 60% marks in the qualifying degree

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in new product development, advanced food processing techniques and knowledge in plant proteins, nanoparticles application in product development especially with reference to millets; food chemistry and nutrition; expertise in handling lab instruments, ability to analyze statistical data and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in English, and MS-Office
  • Willing to travel

Post V

Name of the post – Research Executive

Project – APEDA

Emoluments – Rs. 35,000/- Per month (Consolidated)

Essential Qualifications – Master’s degree in Food Chemistry or Biochemistry/Agrl. Biotechnology/ Instrumentation/ Postgraduate degree in Basic Sciences with at least 60 pc marks secured in the qualifying degree.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Research experience in food analysis, protein digestibility, bioavailability studies, data
    compilation and analysis;
  • research publications in relevant fields.
  • Proficiency in English, and MS-Office
  • Willing to travel across the country in project sites
