Applications are invited to attend Interviews (in-person/ online) for the following posts under DBT- funded network project “Development of superior haplotype-based near-isogenic lines (Haplo-NILs) for enhanced genetic gain in rice” for a period up to Feb. 2023 and project entitled “Development of amaranth core collection using SSR and SNP markers and evaluation of core set for nutritional, yield traits and abiotic stress tolerance” for a period up to March 2024 at ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetics Resources (NBPGR), New Delhi. The positions are of temporary nature and co-terminus with the project.

Owing to the prevailing COVID-I9 crisis, candidates may choose for interview either in person or through an online process. Position Title: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Positions: (01)

Project title: Development of amaranth core collection using SSR and SNP markers and
evaluation of core set for nutritional, yield traits and abiotic stress tolerance

Project PI: Dr Rakesh Singh, Principal Scientist, Division of Genomic Resources, NBPGR

Upper age limit: 35 Years

Terms & Conditions:

• candidates are requested to ensure their eligibility like age’ qualification etc before appearing for the interview.
• Minimum requirement 55% marks in Master Degree.
• The upper age limit is relaxable for women/SC/ST/OBC as per GOI/DST/DBT/ICAR norms’
• candidates having essential qualifications will only be considered for interviews.
• No TA/DA and official accommodation will be provided for appearing in the interview
• The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project, selected candidates have no right to claim for regularization or absorption whatsoever in ICAR-NBPGR.
• The decision of the Director of the institute will be final and binding in all aspects.
• The Director shall also reserve the right to terminate the contract of the job as mentioned above, even before the completion of the project, for which no appeal thereof shall be made.
• Candidatesarerequiredtobringtherelevantcertificates/mark sheets etc. in original along
  with an application with full bio-data enclosing photocopies of certificates and mark sheets from matriculation onwards duly attested affixing a passport size photograph on the top. The selected candidate will be required to produce a medical certificate at the time of joining.
• In case of any disputes, they will be resolved in the jurisdiction of the New Delhi court only.

Salary: Rs. 31000/- plus 24 percent HRA for the NET/GATE or similar qualifications.

Essential Qualifications:

MSc Plant Biotechnology /Agricultural Botany/ Genetics and Plant Breeding/Plant Sciences with specialization in Genetics/ Molecular biology/Biotechnology with 4 years / 5 years of Bachelor’s degree. Candidates with 3 years Bachelor’s degree should have a professional Master’s degree (3 years) and those with 2 years Master’s degree should have qualified
NEt/national level test.
