The National Centre for Biological Sciences is looking to fill up the following positions on a contractual basis for Mouse Genome Engineering Facility (MGEF) and Animal Care and also Resource Centre (ACRC) for the DBT funded project National Mouse Resource (NaMoR) project www.ncbs.res.in/research-facilities/acrc.

1. Facility Assistant– 1 position
2. Facility Trainee– 1 position
3. Senior Animal Facility Caretakers– 2 positions

Qualification: BE/B. Tech/Masters in any biological sciences

Desirable experience: Candidates with previous experience in handling laboratory mice and rats.

Job Responsibilities of Facility Assistant, Trainee and Sr. Animal Facility Caretakers:

• Providing basic animal care
• Feeding and watering of lab animals
• Handle as well as restraining animals as per SOPs
• Maintain sanitation as well as animal care equipment of the facility
• Clean, sanitize and also sterilize cages, racks, equipment, supplies or animal care rooms
• Aid higher-level animal care personnel in advanced duties
• Provide elementary assistance to facility users in simple technological procedures and also record keeping
• Aid in receiving, storing and rotating feed, bedding as well as various other animal care supplies and also equipment
• Perform Animal Facility relevant duties as assigned by animal facility management.
• Assist Facility Staff and Facility Users in their routine colony management and also genotyping of mouse & rat stocks.

Pay Scale: Based On Govt. norms based on experience and qualification

Age limitation: Below 35 years as on 01-01-2021
