National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (NIPER), Ahmedabad is an
Institute of National Importance functioning under the aegis of the Department of
Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India to provide
leadership in Pharmaceutical Education & Research. In the recently released National
Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), MHRD 2019, NIPER-A has secured 8th rank
amongst the best Pharma Institutes in India as well as band A category in Atal Ranking of
Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA). The Institute offers doctoral programs
in Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences and Pharmaceutical Sciences disciplines.
NIPER-Ahmedabad is inviting applications for direct PhD admission for applicants
having their own fellowship. Fellowship from CSIR-UGC NET (NET-LS not eligible)/ DBTJRF exam (‘ A’ category only
( those chosen for working only in ICMR projects are not eligible), UGC-RGNF are eligible
to apply. Admission of applicants having DST-INSPIRE fellowship shall stand terminated
in case the applicant fails to obtain fellowship from DST. Please note that valid proofs of
clearing the fellowship exams are mandatory for appearing in the interview. NIPER
will not provide any type of fellowship to such applicants from its funds, nevertheless, the student can claim from the original funding agency which chose them for fellowship. The terms and conditions of the fellowship amount etc. will be governed by the awarding agency and also additionally subject to the rules as well as guidelines of the Institute. A high degree of inter-disciplinary collaborative abilities is desirable. No TA/DA or any other expenses will be paid for appearing in the interview.

M.S. (Pharm.)/M.Pharm./M.Tech. (Pharm.) (Medicinal Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Natural Products/ Pharmacology & Toxicology/ Formulation/ Biotechnology/ Pharmaceutics/ Pharmacoinformatics); M.E./M.Tech./M.Sc. (Biotechnology/Life Sciences/ Computational Sciences; Biochemistry/Botany/Zoology/Physiology/Life Sciences / Organic
Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry); M.V.Sc.; MCA.
Applicant must have passed the qualifying degree with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or CGPA of 6.75 on a 10 point scale wherever grades are awarded or equivalent as determined by Board of Studies and Research of NIPER (Percentage of marks or CGPA so calculated will certainly be based upon the norms fixed by the concerned University/ Institution or aggregate marks or CGPA scored by the candidate for all years of the qualifying degree, in case University/ Institution has not prescribed any norm for calculating such percentage or CGPA).
HOSTEL FACILITY:
Selected applicants will be given hostel accommodation based upon the availability of rooms including shared accommodation.

DOCUMENTS TO BE SENT along with Curriculum Vitae:
- Matriculation Certificate as proof of age and correct name.
- Mark sheets of all the semesters’ years of qualifying degree.
- Original Migration Certification (Last University/ Institute Attended).
- Award letter (if any type of) of NET-JRF of CSIR/UGC/DBT/ ICMR, DST etc.
- Caste certificate, if applicable.
- Certification of disability, if applicable.
Admission Procedure:
The shortlisted candidates will certainly be called for direct interview. The candidates have to report to the institute for an Interview on the scheduled date and time. Candidates will certainly be allowed to participate in the Interview, only if they are carrying duly filled out an application supported by bio-data as well as one set of attested photocopies of certifications of educational qualification( s) age, experience, caste (in case of SC/ST/OBC applicants), latest passport dimension photograph. The candidates are required to bring all the original certifications for verification.
