ADMISSIONS 2021

Applications are welcomed from eligible applicants for admissions to the following programmes:

1. Research Programmes [( Ph.D./ MS( Engg.)/ MS( Research)]
2. Master of Science (M.Sc) in Chemistry (Two-year programme).
3. Integrated PhD. Programmes.

The gist of the admission operations is given in the following paragraphs.

Candidates possessing the Educational qualifications including those in the final semester/ year of their qualifying exams yet expect to finish all the requirements for the award of the degree (like examinations, project dissertations, viva-voce etc.,) by 31.07.2021 and can furnish necessary certifications on or prior to 31 October 2021 are eligible to apply.

1. RESEARCH PROGRAMMES [Ph.D./ M.S( Engg.)/ M.S( Research)]

1.1 Eligibility

Candidates with an M Sc. or equal, B.E/ B.Tech or equal or M.E/ M. Technology or equal.
or B.VSc/ M.VSc or MBBS/MD as applicable to individual Units as given in the table below are eligible to apply. They need to have at least 50% in their highest University examination and also ought to also have qualified in any type of one of the National exams: GATE/JEST/GPAT/ UGC/ CSIR – NET-JRF/ICMR-JRF/DBT-JRF/ INSPIRE-JRF. The award certificate of such a test must have the validity duration for seeking admission to the research programme as of 2nd August 2021. ME/ M.Tech or equal degree holders are required to qualify in one of the nationwide examinations mentioned above, nonetheless, exceptional applicants without these examinations might likewise be taken into consideration.

2. INTEGRATED PH. D PROGRAMME

2.1 Eligibility:

Disciplines	Qualifying degree
Biological Science	Students with a minimum of 55% marks in bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Physical, Chemical or Biological Science (including Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Veterinary Sciences and Agricultural Sciences) or B.E/B. Tech degree or equivalent degree. Candidates who have qualified for the JAM 2021 written test (for Master’s) are encouraged to apply1

 

2.2 Selection procedure: Shortlisting will certainly be via the Joint Admission Test for Master’s (JAM) and also/ or JNCASR’s written test, followed by an interview for shortlisted candidates on the exact same day or the following day. The final selection will be based upon the performance in the interview.

APPLICATION FEE:

The application fee is Rs.500/- and is non-refundable. Any kind of bank or payment gateway service charges should be borne by the candidate.

Options of on-line payment with net-banking, debit card/credit card etc. is available.

Scholarships: All the regular students [except Master of Science (M.Sc) in Chemistry] joining JNCASR are eligible for a scholarship from JNCASR/ CSIR/ UGC/ ICMR/ DBT/ INSPIRE depending upon their mode of entry.
