Tenure: One year (Extendable) or till completion of the project, whichever is earlier.

Qualifications (Essential) for SCTIMST Vacancy: MSc Biotechnology (NET qualified)

Qualification (Desirable):

1. Experience in molecular genetics including DNA/RNA extraction from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) and fresh tissue, PCR, RT-PCR and Sanger sequencing.
2. Experience in histopathology techniques including immunohistochemistry.

Job Description:

The candidate should be able to independently perform the various activities pertaining to the project as assigned by the PI. Some of the wet lab activities include:

1. Perform and standardize DNA extraction from paraffin blocks
2. Primer designing
3. Perform and standardize PCR and Sanger sequencing
4. Perform immunohistochemistry on paraffin-embedded tissue sections.
5. Indenting and procuring consumables/equipment

Emoluments: Rs.31,000/- plus 16 percent HRA per month.
