One SRF or Research Associate position is available totally on a temporary basis in a project entitled “Epigenetic Mechanisms of Gene Regulation” under the CSIR Emeritus Scientist Scheme in the Lab of Dr Purnima Bhargava at CSIR-CCMB, Hyderabad.
Name of Post: Senior Research Fellow (SRF) or Research Associate (RA)
Upper Age Limitation:
- For SRF: 32 years
- For RA: 35 years
Project duration: 01.11.2020 to 31.10.2021
General terms and conditions:
- CSIR Emeritus Scientist scheme prevailing standards are applicable to these positions.
Depending on the availability of suitable applicants, either SRF or RA position will be filled. - This position is totally short-term & on contract basis and also is co-terminus with the project’s tenure.
- Selection of the candidates will be based upon initial screening based upon qualifications/ experience & suitability of the applicants to the nature of the research project. Shortlisted applicants will certainly be called for on-line interview as well as based upon the recommendations of the Selection Committee in interview applicants will be empanelled as well as appointed. The pool of chosen candidates will be valid for a max period of one year.
- Empanelment does not provide an automatic guarantee of engagement.
- Candidates who have finished their degree with requisite educational qualifications only require to apply.
- The engagement under project does not confer any type of right/claim whatsoever, either explicitly or implicitly on the appointee for regular appointment in CSIR/CCMB, against any kind of post or otherwise under any type of legal conditions or precedent.

- The terms and conditions of engagement of project staff may be amended every now and then.
- The performance of project staff would be reviewed periodically to ensure that candidates not found up to the mark, could be ended.

Essential Qualification:
- For SRF: MSc (in Life Sciences ideally with subjects Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and also Microbial Genetics) as well as possessing 2 years training in methods of research as well as an aptitude for research assessed from published project work.
- For RA: Doctorate (PhD) [in Life Sciences] ideally with subjects Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and also Microbial Genetics) as evidenced from published papers in standard refereed journals.
Desirable Qualification: Genetic manipulation of yeast, NGS experiments, working experience with macromolecules like DNA, RNA, Proteins.
Emolument:
- For SRF: Rs.35,000/- p.m. + HRA as applicable/ admissible.
- For RA: Rs.47,000/- p.m. + HRA as suitable/ admissible.
