ABOUT JAM Joint Admission test for Masters is an examination on the comprehensive understanding of the candidates in various undergraduate subjects including
Biotechnology (Bl), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS), and Physics (PH). A new paper on Economics (EN) is added to JAM from 2021 onwards. JAM scores will be used for admission to M.Sc. (Two years), Masters in Economics (Two years), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, M.Sc.-M.S. (Research)/ PhD Dual Degree and other Post-Bachelor Degree Programmes at IITs (Bhilai, Bhubaneshwar, Bombay. Delhi, (ISM) Dhanbad, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Mandi, Palakkad, Patna, Roorkee, Ropar, Tirupati and (BHU) Varanasi) for the Academic Session 2021-22. JAM score will be used by IISc Bangalore for admission to Integrated PhD programmes. JAM score will also be used by other centrally funded technical institutions such as NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET
JOINT ADMISSION PROCEDURE: Admissions to various academic programmes at I ITs for the Academic Session 2021-22 shall be made based on the All India merit list of JAM 2021. Candidates who qualify in any test paper of JAM 2021 will be eligible to apply for admission to all the academic programmes corresponding to that test paper, provided that they also satisfy the minimum educational qualifications and the eligibility requirements as specified by the institute(s) in which admission is being sought. Admission shall be given in the order of merit depending on the number of seats available at the admitting institute(s). After the declaration of JAM 2021 results, qualified candidates should apply online at JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) through the Organizing Institute (IISc Bangalore) specifying preferences for the programmes of their interest. Further details regarding admission, prescribed fees, etc. are available on the JAM 2021 website. The reservation policy is applicable as per the Government of India norms.
STRUCTURE AND MODE OF JAM 2021
JAM 2021 examination will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) in ONLINE mode only. A candidate can appear for either one test paper or two test papers by paying an additional fee for the second test paper. Candidates opting to appear for two test papers must ensure that they do not choose test papers that are scheduled in the same session.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT AND MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (MEQ) FOR ADMISSION
In the qualifying degree, the aggregate marks or CGPNCPI without rounding-off (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) should be at least 5 5 % or 5.5 out of 1 O for General/OBC (NCL)/EWS category candidates and 50% or 5.0 out of 10 for SC/ST and PwD category candidates (If CGPNCPI is on a different scale, it would be linearly mapped to a 10-point scale).

PATTERNS OF TEST PAPERS
JAM 2021 Test papers will be fully objective type, with three patterns of questions: (i)
Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ); (ii) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ); and (iii) Numerical
Answer Type (NAT) questions.
