REGIONAL LEVEL VIRAL RESEARCH & DIAGNOSTIC LABORATORY(RVRDL)
Applications are being invited for the following post for Regional Level Viral Research &
Diagnostic Laboratory under DHR/ICMR Funded “Establishment of a Network of Research
Laboratories for Managing Epidemics and Natural Calamities” in the Department of
Microbiology, JIPMER on a contract basis.

How to Apply:

The envelope need to be labelled as “Application for the post of “Research Assistant” Regional Level Viral Research & Diagnostic Laboratory (RVRDL).”

- Eligible and also shortlisted candidates based on academic and relevant experience credentials only will be called for written test/skill * test which is followed by an interview.
- Date and venue of the interview will certainly be intimated through email only.
- No TA/DA will certainly be provided for attending the interview.

- The job is time-bound for a duration of I year (likely to continue beyond I year depending on satisfactory performance).

- Selected candidate needs to be able to join within 10 days from the date of receiving the appointment order; failing which, the waiting list candidate-I may be called for occupying the post.
- Candidates under waiting list may be directly taken into consideration for similar positions in the project for vacancies that arise from time to time.

Qualifications and also Experience: Post Graduate degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Medical Microbiology, Applied Microbiology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience of working in BSL-2 or 3 level laboratories is highly favoured
- Experience of working in the medical microbiology laboratory for 2 years or even more
- Working knowledge of biosafety practices, infectious sample handling, RNA/DNA extraction, Real-Time PCR and also sequencing.
