MHRD Gives Work From Home To All Staff, Teaching and Non-teaching Staffs. Amid coronavirus outbreak, MHRD gives work from home to all staff. As India is in its crucial weeks of the coronavirus outbreak, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) takes precautionary steps.
As a preventive measure to stop the spread of coronavirus and to encourage ‘social distancing’, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has allowed researchers to work from home till March 31. In a letter addressed to educational institutions, Amit Khare, HRD Secretary said, “Carry on research, write articles, papers, etc.”
Teachers and researchers were also asked by the Ministry to prepare innovative projects on topics such as “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat” and more.
Till March 31, all the teaching and non-teaching staff of schools, colleges and universities under CBSE, NIOS, AICTE, and UGD have also been allowed to work from home. Days after all the board exams to be held under NIOS, CBSE, etc, were postponed by the Ministry’s decision, the Ministry passed this order.
Online education has been emphasized by the Ministry. It has said in a notice, “This period must be utilized by the researchers, teachers and faculty members for several academic activities
such as the development of online content, online evaluation, and online teaching.”There is no update in regard to the evaluation process for board exam papers being continued or put on hold, as of now. The result declaration date and the admission process will be determined depending on the evaluation schedule.
The MHRD confirmed that the work from home period will be treated as on-duty. The MHRD said, “For all the researchers, teachers, faculty members, non-teaching staff including ad-hoc and contract teachers whose contracts are valid at least up to March 31, the said period will be considered as being on duty.”
