According to the university, more than 51,000 people have recovered, out of the 95,748 total cases reported so far. A vast majority of people who recovered are in China, where the virus originated.

As of now, China is treating its coronavirus patients with a combination of two HIV drugs, lopinavir and ritonavir.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said that

generally, people who are not elderly and the ones who do not suffer from underlying conditions are expected to recover.

Health experts said that the average healthy person who gets the virus might suffer a fever, dry cough, and fatigue and be sidelined for a week or two, after which they should be fine.

Fauci said, “Still, we are going to see a 25-year-old person, who looks otherwise well, getting seriously ill every once in a while. However, the people who have these underlying conditions are the vast majority of people who get into trouble.”
