Admission to Ph.D and M.sc (Neuroscience) Programmes – 2017
NBRC invites applications for admissions to Ph.D. and M.Sc. (Neuroscience) programmes.
Candidates applying for the Ph.D. Programme may take any of the following screening examinations;
1. Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS) conducted by NCBSCTIFR. For JGEEBILS details, please see https://www.ncbs.res.in/academic/admissions-JGEEBILS
2. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2016/GATE-2017) for selected subjects only (please see the website wwvv.nbrc.ac.in ). For GATE information, please see http://www.gate.iitr.ernet.in/
3. Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST-2017). For JEST-2017 details, please see https://www.jest.org.in/
4. External Fellowship Channels: CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR examination for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in following subjects-Biology/ Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics. For further details, please visit their respective websites.
Candidates applying for the M.Sc. (Neuroscience) programme will be screened through JGEEBILS only. Candidates selected for M.Sc. (Neuroscience) programme at NBRC will have option at the end of second year to switch over to M.Sc.—Ph.D. Integrated programme upon fulfilling the required criteria.
Candidates applying for M.Sc. and Ph.D. programme will be short-listed for a two-tier Interview to be held at NBRC based on their performance in the JGEEBILS (Test date: 11th December, 2016) or qualifying GATE -2016/GATE-2017 examinations / JEST-2017 examination or qualifying
CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR examination for Junior Research Fellowship (valid for activation upto 31st August 2017 or later), alongwith fulfilling other eligibility criteria for admission to M.Sc. or Ph.D. programme at NBRC. Candidates short-listed for interview will be Informed by April / May 2017.The interviews are likely to be held in the month May / June 2017. The interview dates will be published on NBRC website.
