The journey of Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), popularly known as Pusa Institute, began in 1905 at Pusa (Bihar) with the generous grant of 30,000 pounds from an American philanthropist, Mr. Henry Phipps. The institute was then known as Agricultural Research Institute (ARI) which functioned with five departments, namely Agriculture, Cattle Breeding, Chemistry, Economic Botany and Mycology. Post independence, the institute has been renamed as Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI).

A walk-in interview will be held for the following post under the project Bio-safety Research Level II (BRLII) trial on Bt brinjal hybrids:

Eligibility:

Essential:

B.Sc. in Biotechnology, Microbiology or Biology

Desirable:

M.Sc. in Biotechnology or Microbiology

Candidate with one year hands on experience in molecular biology will be given preference.

Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and maximum 35 years (Relaxable for five years for SC/ST/Women/Ex-servicemen and three years for OBC )

Consolidated Salary: Rs. 12662/-

Terms and conditions:

The posts are purely temporary and will be filled on contractual basis initially for a period of one year, which may be extended periodically subject to performance till the termination of the projects.

The candidates shall not claim for regular appointments at this Institute / ICAR, as the positions are co-terminus with respective project.

The number of posts are tentative and may increase or decrease depending upon the availability of funds. A panel will be created to keep candidates in waiting list and candidates may be selected from this panel for other projects where essential qualifications and pay scale is similar. The panel will be valid for six.

Only the candidates having essential qualifications would be entertained for the interview.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Concealing of facts or canvassing in any form shall lead to disqualification or termination.
