RECRUITMENT OF JUNIOR PROJECT FELLOWS & SENIOR PROJECT FELLOWS
Odisha Biodiversity Board, Bhubaneswar invites applications from interested and eligible candidates for filling up of temporary positions of Junior Project Fellows (JPF) and Senior Project Fellows (SPF) under different projects to be implemented in the Odisha Biodiversity Board. Details on research projects, eligibility criteria, etc., can be obtained from the OBB website (www.odishabiodiversityboard.in)/ (www.obbcareers.in) or can be collected from the office during working hours. The candidates willing to apply are required to fill up prescribed online forms (separate applications for a maximum of three projects mentioning project Sl. No.) along with uploading of documents in support of their educational qualification and experience. The period of online submission of the application is 19.11.2023 to 03.12.2023. Selection of JPFs and SPFs will be based on screening of applications, followed by an interview process of the shortlisted candidates. Incomplete applications will summarily be rejected.
General terms and conditions:
- The candidate has to visit different study sites frequently to collect, identify and preserve plant/animal/microbial samples including preparation of herbarium specimens/ spirit collections. He/she has to make data compilation, analysis, and report writing. In addition to the above, the JPFs & SPFs can be assigned any other relevant work by the Chairman/ Member Secretary of Odisha Biodiversity Board.
- The candidates must have a Master of Science (MSc) degree in the relevant subject mentioned against each project in the table 1 from a recognized university are eligible for the position of the Junior Project Fellow (JPF). A candidate with the above degree (MSc) with two years of relevant experience is eligible for the position of the Senior Project Fellow (SPF).
- The project durations are for 12 months initially (except for project no. 15) from the date of joining of the Project Fellows; however, it may terminate any time based on the availability of funds.
- Monthly emoluments for Junior Project Fellows will be Rs.20,000/- (consolidated) and for Senior Project Fellows will be Rs.23,000/- (consolidated).
- The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement/ appointment of candidates shall stand terminated automatically after expiry of the project or completion of the period indicated in the office order, whichever is earlier. The JPF & SPF will have no claim for further temporary or permanent employment in Odisha Biodiversity Board or in the State Government.
- The Member Secretary, at his discretion, may increase or decrease the number of positions and also can cancel the recruitment process for all the above positions without assigning any reason thereof. The decision of the Member Secretary is final and binding on all research fellows.
- Candidates can apply for a maximum of three projects and may be considered for projects which he/she has not applied in the application form. The decision of the Member Secretary will be final in this matter with the willingness of candidates. In case of submission of more than one project, the application submitted first will be considered as the first preference of the candidate.
- The applications will be screened by a Screening Committee. Initially, screening will be carried out based on the educational qualification of the candidates; however, if required other criteria will be used. Only the shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.
- No TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview.
- The list of shortlisted candidates will be published on the OBB website (www.odishabiodiversityboard.in )/ (www.obbcareers.in).
- Canvassing in any form will render the candidate disqualified for the position.
- The date and time of the interview will be published on the website (www.odishabiodiversityboard.in)/ (www.obbcareers.in) and also will be communicated through E-mail. No separate call letter will be issued. The candidates should appear for an interview along with their original certificates and other relevant documents in support of their application.
