Job Posting: Special Center for Molecular Medicine
Special Center for Molecular Medicine (SCMM) at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi is inviting applications for three temporary positions in a DBT sponsored research project under the supervision of Dr. Dipankar Ghosh.
Post I – Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
No. of Posts: 01
Title of the project: Targeted Profiling of mucosal cationic antimicrobial peptides and cytokines in culture positive neonatal sepsis
Duration: 9 months (extendible to 2 years)
Salary: 35,000 +24% HRA
Essential qualifications: M.Sc. in Genetics, Microbiology, or Biotechnology with at least 55% aggregate marks and minimum 3 years’ experience in immunology, BSL-2 pathogen – (human) cell interaction research. At least one international, pubmed cited publication.
Desirable qualifications: Experience in biomedical research including Indian Institutional Biosafety and Human Ethics Regulations; handling human clinical samples. Experience in primary and continuous human cell cultures, infectious co-cultures, in vitro and/or in vivo models of inflammation, mass-spectrometry based metabolomics, flow cytometry, and MIQE accepted real-time PCR
. Excellent basic knowledge and interest in innate immunology.Post II – Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Duration: 3 months (extendible to 2 years)
Salary: 31,000/- per month + HRA (24%)
Essential qualifications: M.Sc. in Microbiology or Biotechnology with at least 55% aggregate marks. Minimum 1-year laboratory experience in BSL-2 microbiology, biofilms, basic mammalian cell culture, and molecular biology.
Desirable qualifications: Bacterial cloning and expression, real-time PCR, immunocytochemistry, and western blots. Excellent basic knowledge and interest in innate immunology.
Post III – Scientific Assistant
Salary: 20,000 +24% HRA
Duration: 12 months (extendible to 2 years)
Essential qualifications: M.Sc. in any branch of Life Sciences with at least 50% aggregate marks.
Desirable qualifications: Experience in handling human clinical samples, microbiology, laboratory management, making general laboratory reagents and media. Basic molecular biology skills.
