CONTRACTUAL BASIS FOR ONE YEAR IN STATE LEVEL VRDL, AIIMS,
RAIPUR, CHHATTISGARH

Applications are invited for filling up the following post under the State Level Viral Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL), Department of Microbiology, AIIMS, Raipur,
Chhattisgarh, for a period of one year purely on contractual basis as per below, mentioned

Name of the Post – Research Scientist-B (Non-Medical)

Age (In years) – 25-40

Nature of Employment – Contractual

Duration of Employment – One Year (12 Months) extendable to three years, depending on the candidate’s performance and a budget grant from the funding agency.

– State Level VRDL, Department of Microbiology, AIIMS, Raipur.

Terms and Conditions –

1. The above-mentioned vacancy is for a fixed tenure of one year (12 months).
2. The selection will not be an employee on AIIMS Raipur payroll. Employment
   will automatically terminate upon completion of the 1 year (12 months) from the day
   of joining of duties and there is no liability for permanent employment on AIIMS,
   Raipur or principal investigator. Also, the candidates have no right to claim
   permanent employment based on this job.
3. The contract can however be extended to a maximum of three years depending on
   the candidate’s performance and a budget grant from the funding agency.
4. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Interested candidates may appear
   for walk-in interview. Candidates should bring a duly filled application form (As per
   the prescribed Performa) and all original certificates of educational qualifications,
   copies of research publications and experience certificate, identity proof, along with
   two photographs and a set of self-attested photocopies of all certificates and relevant
   documents at the time of interview.

Candidates have to download the application form from the AIIMS Raipur and submit the same with a self-attested Xerox copy of the certificates. The scanned copy of the duly filled
application form along with certified copies of relevant documents should be emailed [email protected], with a copy to [email protected].
on or before 25th January 2022 by 05:00 PM.

The candidate needs to submit the application as per the format. No change in serial no. order and the heading of the column to be made. The application in the said format is to be properly typed and signed. One recent self-signed passport-sized colour photograph is to be pasted on the assigned place on the first page of the application format.

Applications that are not sent in the attached format will be rejected.

Annexures should include scanned copies of educational qualifications, Experience
certificates, Identity proof in the form of an Adhaar card, Class Xth certificate for proof of age, Scientific publications and other relevant documents.

The application form and the documents should be emailed in a zip folder titled as the
Candidate’s name.

Selection procedure –

The applications received will be scrutinized by the selection committee. Recruitments will be made through Interviews and a written test will be conducted if the eligible candidates are more than 50 per post. Selection is based purely on merit basis.

The list of candidates found eligible will be displayed on the college website by 1st February 2022. Consolidated Fixed Salary (per month) – Rs.56,000/- + HRA*

*HRA will be admissible as per the classification of Raipur city.

Essential Qualifications –

Ph.D. in Microbiology / Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Life Science.
or
First-class master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Microbiology, Biochemistry or life science with the
relevant subjects from a recognized university with a minimum of two (02) years of research experience in the relevant subject after 1st class masters degree.

Desirable Qualifications –

1. PhD candidates with research thesis work on infectious diseases supported by at least three original research publications in PUBMED indexed journals will be given preferences.
2. Any Post -doctoral research / past experience in Viral infectious disease diagnosis,
   epidemiological studies will be given preference.
3. Working experience of tissue culture/virus harvesting / cell line maintenance / viral gene
   expression study/ genetic basis of viral pathogenesis / viral diagnostic genetic marker.
4. Knowledge of Computer Applications (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Sequence phylogenetic
   analysis software, Business Intelligence tools, Data Management. Working knowledge of
   molecular bioinformatics tools like Bio edit, BLAST, Primer and Probe designing,
   phylogenetic analysis and sequence will be preferred.

Job description –

1. Real-time assessment of any viral outbreak if occur in Chhattisgarh.
2. Coordination with state health personnel in control measurement of any viral outbreak.
3. Ensuring the proper sample collection and its transportation by health workers in case
   of laboratory investigation of any viral outbreak in Chhattisgarh.
4. Routine diagnosis of all viral infections whose facilities are available in VRDL.
5. Conducting training and workshops for Medical colleges of Chhattisgarh.
6. Writing of any significant laboratory work for publication in reputed journals.
7. Participating in research projects sanctioned.
8. Writing new research projects and working on them.
9. Completion of any other work assigned by PI, Co-PI or Research Scientists C for
   the smooth functioning of VRDL.
10. Supervision and management of other staff employed in VRDL.
